Can't seem to figure out how to turn off the adaptive cruise control and just use regular cruise control. Is there a way to run only traditional cruise control when you have the advanced assist features?

Much thanks!

Stingers equipped with adaptive cruise control also have regular cruise control. I believe you can activate it by pushing the cruise button a second time. The first push of the cruise button activates ACC, and pushing it a second time activates regular cruise control. Need to check the manual

I believe you have to hold it down, not positive. Should be in the manual.

Turn on the cruise control and then press and hold the distance button.

Thanks for the suggestions! Ended up having to hold down the adaptive button for about 5 seconds, and it went away.

Just to not confuse anyone else who reads this thread, since people are using different terms:

To disable SCC ("Smart" Cruise Control):

1) Enable Cruise Control (by pressing CRUISE once)
2) Hold the button that changes the Smart Cruise Distance (the bottom left button on the right-side of the Steering Wheel) for 2 seconds
3) You'll get a prompt on your screen that confirms the change.
3a) To reenable it, hold the same button again for 2 seconds with CRUISE on.

Cruise will not activate at all if Traction Control is off.
Also, you cannot change Adaptive to "traditional" Cruise if Cruise is currently set. It must be cancelled first.

Thanks for clarifying. This does align with what I have to do. I guess it seems longer than 2 seconds, didn't get the stop watch out or anything... Lol!

It does seem to take forever, I'll agree with that!

Also it resets to adaptive on every engine restart.

I've been unable to eliminate that last orange dot. Tried the method above - didn't work for me after several tries.

Which button are you pressing? Try holding down the cruise on/off button.

Yeah, I got it. Pressing the wrong button. That's what I get for being a GM Certified Master Technician -- from the 1980's. :(

Yeah, hard to see the little icons on the steering wheel when you're not driving with your reading glasses on and the 5-pound manual is in the glovebox, and you're in Sport mode, and ..... and.... and....

I have the owner's manual PDF loaded on my phone. I don't look at it while driving, of course, but it's so much easier to look things up (with search function!) than pulling out the book.
