Iconic V8 American muscle cars tend to hold resale well as more people are familiar with cars. Also more emotion in buying a V8 American muscle car than a V6 Kia. Kia will need decades of iconic sports sedan sales before broader markets recognize it as desirable used car. Small group of us enthusiasts who appreciate the Stinger won’t be enough to prop up resale values. Let’s get real guys. 2019 Stingers, as we post, are being sold new at huge discounts. That doesn’t bode well for high resale values. Look up Kelly blue book values on used Stingers

Bought my Stinger GT2 early in its introduction for decent discount a $45k with significant finance incentives and got top dollar for my 8 month old Honda Civic trade in , essentially got what I paid new for Honda so didn’t lose money on Honda after 8000 miles and a half year of ownership. In contrast Sold my fully loaded 2018 GT2 in perfect condition with 16k miles for 38k couple weeks ago. Car had MSRP of over $50k.

My 2017 Honda Civic Si was example a car that was well known that held its resale value very well and was a car in demand. Took me going to 5 Honda dealers before I found one willing to sell me a new Si below invoice. Most wanted near MSRP for silly Civic Si . I drove snot out of the Honda for 6 months. Then traded Honda for Stinger for same price I bought it. The Kia dealer had my Civic on lot next day for above what the MSRP was new! I just don’t see that for Stinger. I had multiple Kia dealers all offering huge discounts when I bought my Stinger. ....Then Damn Kia dealers wanted to give me $32k for my GT2 on a trade on a Niro hybrid . (Was considering a cheaper commuter for my 80 mile daily drive)

For people renting the Stingers on a lease you’re not going to take depreciation hit as much as Kia will. And enthusiast who love these cars will be treated to real deals on used Stingers when lease returns hit the streets. People who own Stingers on other hand will see some depreciation pain . But hell it was worth it to me to be one of the first to reward Kia for this bold new car! Loved every minute of Stinger ownership! It’s not out of question that I may pick up another Stinger in future if GT cars drop under $15k in next few years. I’d love one as a fun car to mod maybe drop V8 in one. Who knows!

I’ve never got Mustang thing. They never have called to me but so many people go nuts for them. I’m a stinger boy through and through but unfortunately I have bigger passion for Porsche’s so Porsche wins my garage competition for now.

Oooh, your'e out of your home range, but that's ok because down here we are more hospitable .Yes, some people do go nuts over them but over here they still have a crappy safety rating and quality of build isn't brilliant.Yes they hold their resale value better because they are iconic muscle cars ( shame they tend to disintegrate on high impact collisions )
I'll stick with Kia and their top safety rating, as for the Stinger it is everything I want in a car so I don't particularly care about how much the Stinger may lose in resale value because I intend to keep it for as long as possible . Enjoy your Porsche mate.
