5 things I hate about my Stinger GT

What issues have you had with slotted rotors? I had cracking in drilled one but never had issues with a good brand of slotted ones.
Over several years, corrosion/rust built up in/on the edges of the slots which resulted in increasing noise and vibration on my 06 spec b. They were StopTech rotors. Went back to stock, which work fine. I don't track the car. Brakes still feel great on the Stinger though I only have 7200 mi.

Slotted looks cool but pads wear faster as the slot is designed to clean the surface of the pad

Replacing stock rotors with Bosch brake pads.
Thanks for all your advice.

I love everything about my Stingers, including how they look. unfortunately the way they look causes this, and I hate it. no that is not a skillfully parked passenger side, it is a failure to know when I am getting that close.

I'll go months without doing it, then because after all these years I still can't get a feel for where the passenger side is I do this again. typically I avoid parking along a curb on the passenger side. but sometimes you can't avoid it. the picture is not one of those occasions. I didn't have to park here and that makes the near call that much more annoying. when you get that close a curbed wheel or not a curbed wheel is just a toss of the dice.

resumed resolution, if I am going to pull around the curb of a passenger side end stall, at all, take the end two parking spots. I'd rather risk annoying another driver than curbing a wheel.
Oo too close.webp

I find it very difficult to see the passenger tires when parking backing up to the curb at night I usually roll down my windows which are tinted and still challenging, not sure if being lowered plays into this. I also have one of those little round stick on mirrors on the right sidePXL_20240516_213853550.MP.webp

Don't the 2022+ cars come with cameras along the side or something that helps with this issue? Maybe that's something that could be swapped in?

The mirrors that contain the side cameras have to cost ludicrous amounts of money. Then there's the software and hardware inside. I don't know what all that entails but I'd be shocked if a 360 camera system 'swapped in' didn't cost over five grand. I don't know if it is even possible without tearing into the car to add wiring and etc.

It’s standard on the gt2, at least on 2019-2020.

When i go to Manhattan and have to park on the street with my 2020 GT2AWD i have to ask my wife to help me park the car correctly for the same reason mentioned above.
It's a little embarrassing pulling in and out a few times.
That should be out biggest problem.
LOL

The 360 cameras are definitely very useful. But there is also the function to auto-lower the mirrors while you back up. You don't have that? I thought it would be standard on all cars.

Yes, my mirrors do drop down when I am backing up and yes, it is a very useful but when parking in Manhattan between two cars and they only leave you 1 inch of room from the front bumper to the rear bumper it’s a little difficult

Not standard on my base gt. Maybe standard on the gt1/gt2?

I love my '22 Stinger GT-Line. A few nick picky items;
  1. Paint is thin (already have rock chips)
  2. Oil filter placement is dumb; should been placed within engine bay
  3. Smoked chrome trim is discoloring (will contact dealer since I am still in warranty)
  4. Auto start/stop features must be manually turned off (I have it down to a routine to always disable, immediately starting the engine)
  5. Sunroof should been panoramic

PPF (paint protection film) is a must imo if you plan on keeping your car for awhile. I have a 2020, which I've had for four years, not a rock chip on it yet. The PPF has been wonderful.

As far as the auto start/stop I don't think it's a big deal turning off the button every time, I can see how it'd be annoying though. At least we CAN turn it off. A coworker of mine has a Chevy, can't remember if it's a Malibu or what but she doesn't even have a button that you can press to turn it off.
