AgreedAhh I gotcha now just like on my family's BMW. I guess it's all a matter of preference. I rather not allow strangers access to my gas tank.
..........same with mineMy auto stop/start quit working months ago. The funny thing is I don't hate it but it sounds like I've got what a lot of other people want.
My ISG works every time I forget to turn it OFF. I'm sure, though, if I wanted to use it then it would become unreliable. My auto stop/start quit working months ago. The funny thing is I don't hate it but it sounds like I've got what a lot of other people want.
That is how these things seem to work.My ISG (Idle Stop and Go) works every time I forget to turn it OFF. I'm sure, though, if I wanted to use it then it would become unreliable.

I can actually see the voltage of my battery anytime I want thanks to my aftermarket security system and it's good, that was my initial thought. I had it in for an oil change and had them look at it, they couldn't find anything wrong outright but they didn't have their "Stinger specialist" in that day so I'll have to go back, just haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment yet.For Auto Stop to work, a number of condition have to be met by the car's system. Maybe not all are in your case and the car is trying to tell you something?
You may want to try to put your car's battery on a trickle charger to see, whether that changes anything (besides the battery getting fully charged).
Sounds like you like resting your hand on your shifter? My 2 that i can think of right now:
1) The damn gear shifter goes into N too often
2) I cannot open/close windows in the car with the fob like all other cars have had for decades.
i have yet started to drive off, put the D in and its back to N a half second later.Sounds like you like resting your hand on your shifter?
Someone else want to make the joke, or do I have to...?i have yet started to drive off, put the D in and its back to N a half second later.
Sounds like you should talk to the dealer and have it checked out. My shifter doesn't do that and I haven't come across any threads that have mentioned anything similar. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that.i have yet started to drive off, put the D in and its back to N a half second later.
There was one thread a few months back where several people had the same problem that the knob "bounces" back.Sounds like you should talk to the dealer and have it checked out. I mean when I shift into reverse or drive, the shifter moves back into the middle/neutral stance but my gear doesn't unless I intentionally shift again without pressing the button on the shifter to gear it into neutral. Unless I'm misunderstanding you? There was one thread a few months back where several people had the same problem that the knob "bounces" back.
For those occasions when you really don't want to stop at a stop sign, but you can go through the motions so the passengers feel better about it.You have fake brake pads!?![]()
I think warranty things differ a bit between US and EU but my dealer said that if it starts to happen it can be changed under warranty because it is an issue they know about. Luckilly I have never had that happen and the shifter is as stiff as I exactly think it needs to be.There was one thread a few months back where several people had the same problem that the knob "bounces" back.
i shift like i always have with automatic cars, all i had, stinger is the only one "flop" back into neutral when i release the gear knob after shifting to R/DI mean when I shift into reverse or drive, the shifter moves back into the middle/neutral stance but my gear doesn't unless I intentionally shift again without pressing the button on the shifter to gear it into neutral. Unless I'm misunderstanding you?
Tiptronic always going back to drive is the thing I hate most for sure especially when you couldve paid less and got one that would3 things only here:
- when I m in manual, I d like to stay in manual. I hate when it goes back to Drive by itself
- option to manually close the trunk. Annoying when it s a little loaded and something soft is slightly blocking it, it goes back up...
- the standard exhaust that is a joke. Hopefully I took care of this. For those interested (especially in Europe), I got the Bastuck with flaps. Sounds amazing.
The rest is secondary but it's even hard to find something else...
Maybe too many Drive modes... not sure what's really Smart about Smart. Looks a lot like Eco..so could be combined with Eco or Comfort
