360 Camera for USA?

I think's it's a spring launch? I'm hoping for a Q1 announcement with cars hitting dealers early/mid spring. I'd really like to have a car by May! I figure by then....the craziness of the Stinger will have calmed down and the unknown's of the G70's features will have solidified by then. I really do believe a 50K car should have surround view, remote start and wireless charging.
I guess we'll see. I'm anxious for the G70 launch as well - but anything I'm anxious for will end-up being delayed. :p Yes, I think the Stinger should have the features you mentioned - at least as options...

It's an exciting time for the auto industry as a whole but I believe the Korean brands are making such huge strides that everyone will have to give them a serious look.

Well....I visited another dealer today and while there took pics of the side mirrors for both the Korean spec and the US spec. Based on these pics, it's clear a new side mirror housing will be needed....as it looks like it's molded for the camera and not just drilled in.

Sorry for the image quality.

Korean spec side mirror - (drivers side folded in and inside showroom)...you can see both the camera and the light.

US spec side mirror - (drivers side folded in and outside)...you can see only the light.

It wouldn't be too bad if the mirrors were wired up to use the camera and all you'd need to do is get the bottom piece of the housing. The hard part would what's inside. But who knows? If I had a Stinger I'd open it up and take a look...

We really need one of the dealers on here to upload some pics of the service manual. The electrical diagrams should be pretty clear on if the wires are there or not..

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I read somewhere that the 2019 version should definitely have this feature, and that supposedly the reason it is not in there is because Kia USA was tired of waiting to be able to sell the vehicle. How true this is, I don't know, but it sounds like they were pretty sure that the missing features will be here in 2019.

I hope that's true. The surround view camera is a must for the Stinger moving forward...

I agree. I hate that I read it right when I was starting to just go ahead and say forget the 2019 version and was thinking about just getting a 2018. However, my local dealer also kind of alluded to the same thing. If I want everything, it likely won't be until 2019.

Let’s hope they are in there as they were made in the same place. I know Volvo and BMW had wiring available for options you didn’t get on a particular trim but can add later. Their trick is to link it in software so even if you got the parts aftermarket, you had to pay the dealer a fee to activate the software to use it.

Isn't he in Canada? His service manual would show the wires cause they have the cameras, we need a US dealer to upload them.. ;)

Yup I am in fact in the great white north of Canada.....Eh! Guess we got lucky to get the limited versions of the GT with EVERY extra already on board (EXCEPT FOR HEATED AND COOLED CUP HOLDERS, as per some Audio's models have).

We do sit up here north of the 49th wondering why the heck the USA 2018 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD versions are missing so many extras that come standard in the Canadian versions of the Limited GT V-6 AWD. Kia Canada price out a Stinger link; http://www.kia.ca/build-and-price-kia?trimcode=st753j (roughly translated from CND to USA, wuld be around $43,881US!! for a loaded GT limited Twin Turbo)

As far as I understand, these vehicles are all currently made in the main plant ion South Korea. So why such a difference in extras that are missing? As far as the US sellers getting tired of waiting? Again back to my understanding is that the first delivered and rolling out the door Stinger in North America was from a dealer north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada! Around Nov 22nd or 23rd 2017. The first rolling Stinger would of been the Thunder Grey deep red Nappa Leather GT Limited (loaded to the nuts and bolts) would of actually of been from Sherwood Kia! But, the would be owner did not take delivery of it in late Nov, as per or policy here.....100% refund on the 5K put down back in July or August......and we had it free and clear to sell to first person that wanted it. To our surprise we had it for almost 4-weeks, had over 10 people that all that wanted it (and a crap load of tire killers).......but for a number of reasons they all passed. Made for some fun with the cellphone camera, even made it into a B&W drawing so kids could colour it while waiting with the parents in the service area. Anyway that vehicle is now rolling along the highways and bi-ways of Southern Alberta.

As far as the US version owners manual, did a quick search and found this 560 page PDF version, unless someone with a printed one in hand in the states can say otherwise, this should be the correct one; "© 2017 Kia MOTORS AMERICA, Inc. All rights reserved. May not be reproduced or translated in whole or in part without the written consent of Kia Motors America, Inc. Printed in Korea" Link; Download 2018 KIA Stinger - Owner's Manual PDF (560 Pages)

The owners manual doesn't have the electrical diagrams in it. We needs pics of the SERVICE manual..
I do agree with your general WTF though on why the US version got shafted on features and price compared to the Canadian version. Makes no sense whatsoever..

There was nothing to wait for. KMA made the decision on their own, most likely to keep arbitrary pricing perceptions in check.

Just passing along what someone who has access to a district manager said. It didn't make sense to me either.

Probably the corporate spin to the dealer groups on why they decontented basic features from a high-end car.

Where is the 360 Camera option for the USA model? Why was it removed while everyone else in the world gets it?
We got it in australia but we did not get the AWD model. Que sera sera. Come to oz and buy our model take it back to USA and you will have the only stinger in USA with a camera and RHD!

As far as I can tell the wiring and system is there. Software looks to be the only issue I can think of. All of the new tech manuals are on tablets and getting an exact picture of the system is next to impossible. I called my Rep and was told 19' will be an earlyish release and should have surround view. I think the optima is the test subject for it. Id also guess this will be a way for them to change/up pricing pckgs . It does have HUD and the correct mirror wiring so I'd assume it's possible to DIY it but I'd imagine would be quite risky warranty wise. And programming for the satellite imagery could be a nightmare.
