Haven’t posted in awhile and wanted to give an update on my ‘19 Stinger GT RWD. Not sure if I have the highest mileage Stinger out there, but I do have 210,000 miles currently on the car and is my daily. Just changed brake pads(EBC Blue Stuff)/rotors as a normal routine- about every 50,000 miles or so. Tires also recently replaced(about every 40,000 miles on a square wheel/tire setup.) What can I say but I absolutely love this car. Performance is still amazing, doesn’t leak a drop of oil, and the transmission still shifts as good as day 1. Interior is red and I was worried about fading, but has stayed true to original color. Mileage is relative to the owner, how, and where they drive in addition to their maintenance routines. I have replaced one thing on this vehicle- oil sensor at about 190,000 miles. That is it except oil changes, tires, and brakes. I drive the car…mostly very responsible as I am 54 yrs old and have no desire to drive reckless, but when you do need to pass slow left lane drivers who never get over(Especially bad in Maryland), the power is always there when you need it. Hope everyone stays safe and I will give another update in a few months on progress. Be safe everyone!

Wow congrats! 3 questions. What percentage would you say you driven highway/city. I’m going to assume majority highway haha.

Also in regards to the transmission, do you get the jerky downshifts from 4-3, 3-2, 2-1? Or have you either never had that issue, or are accustomed to it?

Your brakes, ebc blue stuff. Is it just the pads or also the rotors from ebc? Any squeaks? I’m needing to change soon from stock (I’m at 30k)

Keep us posted on your journey!

Just to confirm, you still have the original spark plugs in the car?

Mainly highway for sure- use EBC rotors and pads- have tried Hawk pads and EBC yellows but have settled on Blues. A little squeak and dust here and there but not much. HUGE IMPROVEMENT over stock…not cheap but big difference. I don’t get the transmission issues, but I also don’t do much manual shifting. I feel the transmission does a solid job for my needs. Again just my family hauler and work car. Good luck on yours

Nice!!

That is almost unbelievable. Who ever heard of a set of plugs getting well over 200K miles?? Especially in a turbocharged GDI engine???
Agree- my first Kia product and first turbo car. Both were concerns of mine when purchasing it new. I have purchased mainly Toyota/Lexus vehicles and debated on purchasing a Kia and especially a new Kia. It has been an amazing car. People still love to dog on Kia’s, and everyone has their opinion and every car is unique, but at least for mine it’s been an excellent car for dependability. I still get questions weekly “What is it?” Amazing to me people still don’t know Kia made the Stinger. Likely why we all love ours

The Stinger is a sleeper alright. Maybe half of the people who ask about it don't know what it is. And sightings have tapered off and, I seem to notice, are decreasing in frequency. But that could just be a "dry spell" between a rash of Stingers sightings. It's happened more than once already over the years.

Dang congrats

Very impressive, what fuel do you use?

Are you still servicing it at the dealer and following the KIA maintenance schedule?

I use only premium and don’t really have a set brand that I use but always run premium. I haven’t used the Kia maintenance schedule to be honest. I change the oil every 5,000 miles and have them check hoses, belts, etc,… while it’s in for any service. I have to say I have a really great service department that is honest and I know the mechanics and service writers that work on my car, so they let me know if anything seems out of the ordinary, which so far has just been the oil sensor.

Happy to hear the turbos lasting this long honestly, if mine last half that mileage with my mods I will be happy.

Any aftermarket parts?

How often do you change/clean the air filter?

I am stock under the hood except K&N drop-in filters. I check the filters after every oil change and clean them about once a year. I would love to mod it, but just isn’t worth the risk of causing other issues for me personally, since I just use is it a daily driver. Additonally, my kids drive it on occasion, and I just feel better having it stock for them as well. I am assuming since I drive mainly highway at low rpm’s (below 2000), it is a little less stress on the drivetrain. Just a theory, but may be a contributor. I think even with your mods you will have no issues. It’s a solid engine.

Not doubting the motor to give me 200k at least, my turbos however with how fast they are spinning, I will be satisfied if they give me 100k.

I think its the combination of frequent oil changes, premium fuel and relatively light driving habits is what made your car last this long, especially on the same plugs. Keep us posted, interested to see the future of your car.

update? I personally just hit 100,000 miles lol

Congratulations on your 100,000 mile achievement!! I now have 230,000 miles and still no issues. I don’t drive as much as I used to, but look forward to it every time. I love the powertrain and driving dynamics so much I just bought my son a used G70 3.3T AWD Sport Prestige to add to the family I have never done any mods to the engine- only suspension with Eibach springs and sway bars, and I think that has helped with the longevity of the vehicle combined with obsessive care I hope you have the same luck with yours!
