Nice looking concepts. But all this talk of replacing ICE with EV is stupid. The more talk, the more revelation of the shortcomings, even impossibilities, of a massive swing to EVs: not in any foreseeable future. What I think is more in line with the actual agenda is a massive culling of private automobiles across the board. The masses will be renting rides in various ways, not keeping their own vehicles in a garage at home (if "they" have their way: "You vill own nussing, und you vill be hahpee").

Merlin this is a big ship and it already started turning. To boost the onea making laws dont know where the engery to charge ev's comes from. But they do know what stock to buy.

I like their renderings.

I like the banter on EVs and electrification, it never gets old.

Speaking of old, we have some old members. Don't worry, they're not long for this earth and maybe the planet can start healing on their passing.

Onward and upward!

seems the young sheep like to ignore how electricity is produced (60% by fossil fuel powered plants).

Lithium mines needed to make batteries are surely healing the planet :D

we can ignore that stuff, though!

Eh. Just trading one limited resource for another limited resource. Neither is a winning long term solution.

the pics are mesmerizing

The idea that we can all make this simple switch to all electric vehicles in a short time frame is absolute lunacy. Even despite the impact the production of modern electric vehicles has on the environment, the grid would still pretty much need a complete overhaul, and that would be quite the expenditure. The only somewhat reasonable solution I can see would be a switch to solar by individual homes, which I still can't even imagine what the total realistic cost would be of such an endeavor. These "solutions" the establishment is pursuing will leave the poor in even more dire circumstances, and will cause an even further elimination of the middle class.

As a society, we should be pursuing any and all advancements in useful technology. In the case of fuel for vehicles we should be looking at electric, fossil fuels, natural gases, hydrogen, helium, nuclear, etc.

You left out one:

But it’s true that the planet’s resources are finite. And that the top tier animal race is impacting and affecting that finite environment. It’s a sad but true reality. Too bad the Stinger is just too attractive all around for this planetary habitant to resist…maybe I’ll end up with an EV Stinger in addition to feel I’ve done my part for ecology. Then again…

Don't like the rendering, not as a Stinger at least. Looks too much like the EV6 which I'm also not a fan of.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before but I looked into the ev thing, for a second. The wife likes how the Mach-E thing looks. Talked to a guy who owns one. He says if you aren't driving a ton (which we don't do) then the gas savings is just swapped for much higher electrical bills. So you basically are trading one for the other. That's how the money has been for him at least. My electric bill is high as it is imo. Maybe if I had solar panels, it'd be a much easier decision.

Obviously if you do a lot of driving, especially, when the prices are higher then you'll save. In reality, how many people can actually afford an electric car? If people ain't buying Stingers cuz they think that's too much to spend for a Kia, why would they go spend MORE money on an (imo) uglier electric version?

im hoping synthetic "gasoline" fuel takes off. pretty sure Porsche and others are backing this.

Seems like will be a reality around 2027.

No new cars for me until the powertrain warranty expires - that would be q3-2031.

Some early details released.

Will be on the new eM platform with a 113+ kW sized battery.

The top spec should be good for 600+ hp.

Looks like it'll be a bit larger than the Stinger.

I saw something yesterday about a possible EV Stinger called the GT1 possibly released in 2026. I am not permitted to post links yet so I will re post what I found

""The Kia Stinger twin-turbo V6 sedan might be dead, but if South Korean reports are to be believed, it is in line for a battery-powered successor with supercar speed and up to 800km of driving range.

The Kia Stinger V6 sports sedan may get an indirect successor in the form of a high-performance, long-range electric car due in 2026, according to the latest overseas reports.
According to South Korean publication FT News citing unnamed industry sources – Kia is developing a new electric sedan for launch in late 2025 or early 2026, under the codename 'GT1'.
The report – which is yet to be verified – does not identify the new model as a Stinger replacement, nor does it say the vehicle will reprise the Stinger badge.

However ETNews says the Kia 'GT1' will be in the same category as today's Kia K8 sedan – which is half, to one size larger than the Kia Stinger – and its performance claims would be worthy of the Stinger's performance badge.

The South Korean website claims the GT1 (its final name is yet to be revealed) will be underpinned by the Hyundai group's next-generation electric-car architecture due in 2025, known as 'eM'.
Top-of-the-range models are due to be powered by dual motors – 200kW front and 250kW rear electric motors – good for a total of 450kW, more than a Porsche 911 Turbo, or two Volkswagen Golf R hot hatchbacks combined.

It would become the most powerful production Kia ever built – by today's standards – exceeding the 430kW/740Nm of the Kia EV6 GT electric car (which I hate) , that is capable of 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.5 seconds

The GT1's rear electric motor would almost out muscle a Kia Stinger GT, developing 250kW compared to the 274kW/510Nm 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 in the final batch of V6 Stingers.

Now, I know you yanks are a bit slow (as are we) to embrace electric cars compared to Europe but Tesla electric cars are now number 3 in Australia behind Ford/Toyota No 1 and Mazda no 2. Toyota and Ford keep swapping.

And just to remind you the GM product is not bought any more here in Oz. All dealerships closed. Good riddance.

It's the reason I bought a Stinger!

Overall I'd say you are correct, but in my area, every other car is a Prius and every other other car is a hamburger button.
