2022+ stinger exhaust tip fitment mbrp exhaust

I should be mounting exhaust in a week or two. I think borla has that sexy low growl but I wanted to be somewhat tame
i’m thinking of grabbing the Borla too. let me know about the drone. i’m looking for something that isn’t as loud or noticeable in comfort mode but opens up in Sport.

The drone on the 2022+ Active Borlas is pretty minimal even without tips, especially with closed valves - I've been running it since last October with no issues for highway commute. If anything after breaking in, it's either gotten slightly quieter or my ears got used to it.

Sport mode/open valves is noticeable louder - equivalent to the 2018-2021 Borla exhaust (no valves) which tends to have more reports of highway drone.

I've had the 2022+ Borla and absolutely love it. The drone in Comfort mode is comparable to the drone from the stock exhaust in Sport mode, just a little louder. You will mainly hear it when going up hill, or accelerating from a stop. You can easily drown it out with music though.

I haven't felt the need for adding tips. Maybe for passenger (i.e. wife's) comfort, but otherwise the occasional drone doesn't bother me. I would not bother with trying to find/install tips until you give the exhaust some time to break in. It does mellow out a little bit.

I would 100% buy the exhaust again. My only complaint is actually with the Stinger itself. I wish the engine revved to 7K rpm! Would love a few extra revs before being forced to shift. I came from a V6 Camaro with a 7K redline and it kinda spoiled me on higher revving engines.

That's good to hear about the borla active exhaust. I ordered it few days ago and it's about to arrive this saturday. Going to set it up with some oval exhaust tips 57 inlet and 105mm outlet to fill out the exit as best as possible without rubbing. Probably will post pictures and a review later. But yes a good point to let the exhaust break in. Pretty excited!

I have the 2018-2021 borla exhaust on my 23 stinger and I definitely agree that it has crappy drone on highway even with tips extending out of the rear bumper. That is one reason I am switching to the active valve 2022+ version aside from being able to use valves. And the muffler tips are far better aligned from all the pictures and reports I've seen so I am happy about that.

This time I'll be adding better shaped oval tips (57mm inlet 105mm outlet) instead of just round ones to better fill the 5" exists. I should be able to sell my current exhaust anyway. Been kind of on a journey going from MBRP pro to borla to now borla active. MBRP pro also had kinda crappy drone even with tips on highway back when I had my stock secondaries. I now have the ark secondaries as well (totally LOVE IT!!). :D

Dang I felt like I should've gone borla but I don't want it to be too rambunctious lol y'all done a torks ECU/TCU flash?

I got two oval exhausts tips I am going to test out and see which one fits better. One is a 57mm (2.25) inlet 105mm (4.1) outlet and the other is a 57mm (2.25) inlet 115mm (4.5) outlet. I will also link the ebay item so others here can buy it as well. Will probably post a review of the borla active catback along with the tips to give people a good idea of what to expect. Some trial and error :)

I am set to swap out my current 18-21 borla catback to the borla active valve 22+ version next friday with the 105mm outlet tips for now but have the 115mm outlet tips on order to arrive in 2-3 weeks so I'll see which one will fit better and share detailed pictures/info with the community. Really excited to see hear the difference.

Neither, both is going to be too small. You needed 130mm outlet for the 22+ Stingers. 130mm is a snug fit

Ah that's good to know. Ended up finding a nice 130mm one on ebay and ordered 4. Thank you for sharing that info and picture.

I guess ill sell the 115mm later on. Good thing is that they are somewhat cheap anyway to replace.

Which tips did you install? How was the install and have any pics?

The akrapovic ones.
Here i just tooka pic at the parking lot. These are on the mbrp pro active. They look great and help reduce cabin noise for sure!

Easy install. Just takes some adjustments to align them so they dont touch the sides. 4.5 inch outlet is about as big as i would go to give some room. They are really pretty and fit the rear look really nicely. I tried the 5 inch versions i have and yeah they will definitely rub unless you make modifications.

These are the tips on ebay:
