2020 Stinger Rumors

One of the recently posted GTS Oranges has wheels virtually the same physical dimensions; the only difference being that they are gloss black. Nobody has said anything negative about them, yet. :)

Well, if I was paying adequate attention, it was on a dealers lot, so, not someone's personal aftermarket wheels choice. It's free game. I haven't the first clue which thread it was, though; but it was today or yesterday.

(edit: Found it: bottom pic: Has anyone seen any Stingers in the wild? See? Narrow five spokes. But matte black, my mistake; I was misled by the shiny edges.)

I understand, lol. I love my Stinger too, everything about it! Just did NOT love that person's Stinger. The rims are by far the most disliked things on that car, lol. However, we all have different tastes, I understand .

Ok, from your original post, I totally got the wrong idea! It seemed like you hated the Stinger, I did not get that you were talking about the one pictured. lol. I was thinking that you were not even a Stinger owner.

So I was recently at the movies and saw this Stinger, which I am assuming is a 2020. I do not like the faux alloy look features on the side mirrors and the front (air vents) on the lower front sides sides (sorry y'all,I do not know car part names, forgive me). I really do not like the look of rims either, but I know everyone has their own preference. I am on the MS Gulf Coast and this is the third Stinger I have seen. The other is a 2019, Sports Blue Stinger...or whatever the color name is supposed to be. I am not impressed with the over all look of the 2020. Again, I know a matter of preference.

The 2020 Stingers have not actually reached dealer’s lots yet. They have only been shown at the OC auto show because that is where Kia is based out of in the US.

The 2020 models look identical to the 2019 models with one exception that I have seen so far. They replaced the Kia badge with the Stinger badge on the rear trunk.

We probably won’t see 2020 Stingers on dealers lots until December or perhaps into next year.

I'm confused. You have a Stinger and you thought having dark chrome accents on the car was a sign that it's a 2020?

Do you have a 2.0t trim or did the dealer replace/wrap all of your dark chrome?

Also the 2020 model might include headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Otherwise they are supposed to be the same.

Our 2020 models are out and they still have the rear Kia badge. Gt premium here always had the bending lights as well.

Is this the future of the Stinger. Ford has just revealed the Mustang Mach E. A four door electric SUV. What is happening to the world?

Australia and Canada have been selling 2020s since mid-year.

The only thing we've seen in the U.S. is one car at an auto show that may or may not be a 2020 (a placard was placed near the car claiming it was a 2020 but who knows if that was accurate) and back in August or September there was an alleged 2020 brochure for the U.S. floating around. Again, who knows how legitimate that was, since no one from Kia has actually acknowledged if the U.S. will get a 2020 Stinger. There's not even a mention of it on their website.

The only real info we got on 2020 Stingers was in April related to the "2020" GTS. We later learned that the GTS was actually a 2019 and all of the auto blogs/mags were wrong when calling it a 2020.

Normally, automakers release info on new model year vehicles in the summer and they go on sale shortly after. Kia is way behind the curve with this one. Maybe there's some kind of production issues with U.S. spec'd Stingers (EPA requirements or the like).

For the record, that will be sold along with the Mustang, not replacing it.
But it's not a Mustang so why call it one. Surely they could have used a different name.

I was speaking specifically of the US version. I believe ours will get the rear Stinger badge. However, the 2020 cars are not available in the US yet so all we have to go on is the show car that was in OC.

The GT2 has had the dynamic (bending) headlights in the US for both the ‘18 and ‘19 models.

I tried it on mine and they didn’t bend while stopped. Is that a setting?

I haven’t tried at a dead stop, but I don’t think there are any settings. Try it with a big, low speed turn such as in a parking lot. I can see them turning pretty easily at low speed, particularly when returning to center.

Park your car in front of a wall and let it shut down completely. Restart it and you should be able to see the lights moving up/down/left/right on the wall as they're calibrating for your drive. That's the easiest way to tell if yours are dynamic bending and working.

They will only bend whilst driving around corners. As mentioned by Nuthadey, they also do it on start up when the car is running through its checks.

Probably to try and give it some clout it hasn't earned. I think it's somewhat blasphemous tbh. From what I've seen of the testing car photo leaks it really doesn't look anything like it either.

It's a completely different type and class of vehicle with the Mustang name. They have tried to make the rear lights similar but seems to have more in common with Tesla Model X than the Mustang.

Maybe Ford have run out of car names. Maybe we should come up with one. Ford Electric maybe.
