2020 Stinger Rumors

Well it appears after the latest moderator cull, the inmates are running rampant. Yes, gasoline taxes are expensive when your population is low and social programs are expensive. Yes, Kung Fu yielded a wealth of pithy sayings ...

Anyone interested in Stinger 2020 rumors? :p
Steve , the 2020s are in market, there are no rumors , just facts now ..........................and the biggest OFF TOPIC member was one of the mods that got gonged .............................maybe start a 2022 Mid Life Cycle update thread , thats where we will see some real changes :thumbup:

We get hosed for premium fuel in Canada. It used to be that all the big retailers all charged 20c a liter more for 91 octane vs 87. So if it was 1.21/L for 87 and 1.41/L for 91, that is "only" 17% more per liter. When 87 octane fuel was 0.85/L a couple years ago, premium was 1.05/L, 24% more per liter. Now it's about 0.95/L for 87 and 1.21/L for premium which is 27% more per liter. It just keeps going up! An expert from an article I read a couple years ago claims the true cost different between 87 and 91 octane with additives is about 5c a liter.

California averages I just pulled from AAA Gas prices is 4.187/gallon (1.11/L) and premium is 4.462/gallon (1.18/L). That's only 7c a liter higher / 6% higher per liter.

To top it off, our high octane fuels seem questionably worse than equivalent equal octane USA fuel.

What the heck!?

Yeah, this got under my skin too, after moving from Canada to the US. Those might the CA averages, but in general, pretty much everywhere it's 20-22 cents / gallon more for 91 vs. 87. So ~5-6 c/L. Well, ok 10c/L after conversion :-)

Just kidding around on the off topic wandering - it struck me as amusing as one of the purge victims used to have various 'OFF TOPIC' signs that he'd display occasionally.

Personally, I've made my peace with gasoline costing more in Canada than the U.S., and as others have noted prices are still quite low vs. other countries. Alberta is somewhat better off for fuel prices that most provinces, with the local Costco being 106.9 CAD per liter today for 91 octane. That works out to about 3.04 USD per US gallon.

As for David Carradine, RIP Caine ....

Not enough of a difference to get worked up over: premium gas at Costco today was $2.92 (which is actually $2.93, because everything at the pump has .9 cents added on). And there are plenty of places in the US where it's either side of four bucks.

As I mentioned, we're more fortunate here than most provinces - some of them really get 'bent over the stove' on fuel prices. I'm sure our West Coast correspondents can relate ...

Finally some 2020 Kia Stinger news. It appears to have a brown interior available now.

Hmm...brown interior...seems like every year the Stinger borrows a little bit more from a 2016 Optima SXL.

Is the car in the video an official representation of what a 2020 Stinger in the U.S. will look like? If so, that Stinger script on the rear is going to drive some folks bonkers.

I thought this was the LA Auto Show at first but I was wrong. That show isn’t until November.

I reckon it's a Red interior sometimes different lighting has that effect. Some of the red interiors I've seen look burgundy while others look a lipstick red.

The one in the video is red. I thought he had read somewhere that they were going to do a brown interior.

They actual did do a brown interior in the Ltd edition Rafa model, that was 2 litre with a few extras. From memory I think they only released 75.

Yes you may be right. It just didn’t look like the normal red when I first saw it but it definitely could just be the lighting.
