2020 gt2 or 2021 gt2

Ask and you shall receive. Please see attached pic of my deal. $39,420 (out-the-door) for a 2020 GT2 AWD. Original MSRP is $54,140. I'm doing the 24-month lease buy-out trick. Here in Missouri, we pay taxes at the DMV when we title our vehicles.
thank you sir!! What did your lease buyout cost show on the Kia site? Well done

Don't know yet. I just bought it a few weeks ago. Still waiting for it to show up on their website. Kia Motors Finance. I expect it to be right at $39,420. I'll post a screenshot, once it's up there. Should be any day now, I would think...

Missouri really is the Show me State! ;)

Update: Was able to find a 2019 GT2 Black out the door for $42,000. Pick up tomorrow and this was not a lease. Super excited, thanks for all who said keep looking and cast a wider net. There was a bit of an error on the dealers part but they stood up and honored. That’s what a good dealer does!!!

I’m too lazy to read anything above..

RWD or AWD?

$42k out the door? That's what they're asking for GTs and GT1s here. I was told today by a salesman that it's gonna be hard to find what I want cuz they aren't really getting in new stock since the factor was shut down. Basically, that they aren't even making 2020 cars cuz the 2021 is set to come out.

Yes I know. It wasn’t easy to find. I just hope things don’t fall apart when I get there. I am going to ask for a sales contract picture before I head down. But I do have texts and emails from them confirming all the numbers. You can find Indigos at 38-39 Before TTL pretty easily. I almost went that direction until this deal happened, and as much as I liked the Deep Chroma blue I wasn’t crazy about the brown.

41k is the cheapest indigo blue in my area. I feel like stuff is more expensive here compared to what I've seen other places. I'm not a big fan of the brown either. Maybe if the dash and the steering wheel was still black and the rest brown, maybe it wouldn't be so bad?

Where are you located. I had the same problem. I had to go out 120 miles from my area. Had to get away from the money towns.

Twin Cities, MN........
Only about 30-40 cars within a 200 mile radius. Most of those being GT-line or GT2s. GT1s seem to be really hard to find.

No doubt that’s why I was going GT Indi. I searched over 60 Kia dealers. I’m in Nj so a bit more populated. In my search alone I found at least a dozen Indi. I went into every dealers website. Filled out interest in “x” car. When they responded I would then send them all the same form email stating I am buying immediately and reaching out to over 50 Kia dealers best price wins and I have done all my research. I have test driven the vehicle and listed all my info
Ie:
My zip
Financing
My credit score
Said not military
Not first responder
Don’t mention trade till your close to your number)
Asked them to Provide sell price, fees, taxes and I can figure out the math.
I also stated if they aren’t interested in being part of my matrix then let me know and I would remove them.
Also tell them you are getting quotes on Genesis 3.3t and Tesla Model 3 or other car in the same category. I probably would have bought a 3 dual motor but I get a gas card thru my company. Test drive a Model 3 dual motor just for kicks, the acceleration feel is sick . Says 0-60 4.4 but it felt way quicker than Stinger or G70. I was also offered a 2019 Genesis G70 Prestige 3.3 for 42 before TTL. Way nicer interior but wanted the utility and back seat room of the Stinger.

I would say wait to see what the 2021 will be like coming from someone who just bought a 2020 a month or so ago. There's still a chance it gets the new engine with the 3.5TT and that's such a big change that it's worth it. I was just suffering through too much depreciation and was breaking down so I couldn't wait any longer.

So..... instead of looking at autotrader, I searched near by cities. Came up with a white gt1 for 42,804 and a indigo blue special edition for 39,790. You think it's possible to get the gt1 for under 40k out the door? Or should I try for the indigo blue?

Don't you hate when you want what you want but financially you have to get what you can afford? Before buying a house I knew I wanted a new gt2 in ceramic silver with red interior. Now, after totaling out my old dd and running the numbers on it, I'm like, well, maybe I should get a gt1, then maybe settle and get a gt. The special edition is part gt/gt1 with ugly wheels, ugly interior but at least it has a sunroof, 8" touch screen, upgraded speakers plus you get drift mode, which, I'm sure I will never even use.

I would look at smaller cities, or dealers outside of major centers - their operating expenses and inventory turnover is lower, so more likely to cut deals

That said it shouldn't be a problem to get $3K off the GT1

Here's a screenshot of my buy-out quote. Slightly less than I thought :). And I didn't put one dime down. So total Cap Cost is $39,015. Just sent the check in-full today. Should get the title and lien release in the next 30 days. Also included the odometer statement, which is required for them to send me the title.

In my area I found people much more willing to move on the Indi. But that could be due to the fact there were more Indi on lots here than 1’s. The 2 they were being pigs. Than GT1 and 2’s, as I said earlier I was ready to buy the Indi when the GT2 deal fell into my lap.

So........this morning I drove 1 and a half hours away to look at a blue special edition car. Over the phone on the weekend, was told that the online price was 39,790 and that I'd get an additional 3500 off of that, being 7k in savings plus the 2000 something dealer discount bringing the car down to 36,290. I was gonna try to hit em with 35k out the door based on that price. I specifically asked numerous times and told them that I didn't want to waste gas and money for nothing.

Get there, car looks gorgeous btw and the interior is more of a dark mocha color than the peanut butter looking pics I've seen online. I ACTUALLY liked the interior!!! It gives it more of a luxury feel imo. Both the exterior and interior are 100x better in person imo.

Anyways........they tell me (after showing them the car on their website on my phone) that the internet price is a mistake and that the price should be 42,685 after all the discounts. Like I said, I was gonna try for 35k out the door, after going back and forth they asked me who I talked too I gave them a name, they said that person was a new salesman and was misinformed. They'd be talking to that person etc.......They apologized for me wasting my time and gas money then tried to get me into a lease, which I wasn't looking to do. Maybe if I had figured out all the lease buyout stuff then, maybe but I was looking to buy and buy for what I thought my budget could handle. Pretty bummed and tired just from the drive. Although that was the longest drive I've taken in my ⚡ and it was a nice drove/ran like a champ. But yeah, really liked the car, wish I hadn't been suckerd in over the phone.

So do gt, gt1, gt2 have remote start or not? I plan on looking at an awd gt this weekend and the salesman said he was sitting in a gt2 and he said none of them have remote start but it could be added through them. This is head scratching to me. A 30-50k car doesn't have remote start? Maybe he just had no clue about what he's talking about?
