• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

2019 Map Update now available online

It’s pretty easy to do, go to the website, enter the details, download and copy to the SD card and put it back in the car. Shouldn’t take too long if you’ve got a good internet connection. It’s not complicated, better off doing it yourself rather than having the dealership do it, due to having to register your VIN on the website. I’m sure people have posted the dealership did their original update and now they can’t create an account due to the VIN being linked to the dealership
I will give it a go. I tried to register online but I never got a verification email back. Does the card pop out easily. I just need to make some time.

Yes just open the flap, press and it pops out like any other sd card. Download takes about 30-40 minutes.

If Android Auto worked over bluetooth it would be less of an issue, apart from the lack of HUD.
Oh and the speed limit in the display and HUD is also wrong (all the way home today even on sections of freeway south of Wollongong which aren't new). You don't get that feature with Google Maps. I suppose I could run Waze and see if it's any better.

Welcome to the 3rd party that supplies the "updates".

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Just tried to update and found out that it will only download to a computer running Windows 7 or newer. What did people do trying to update using MacBook Pro?

If I remember correctly, the file structure of the memory card was Fat32. Not sure if that’s a limiting factor for Macs or not

Anyone heard if the 2020 map update is available AU/NZ yet? It was about this time last year that the last update came out.

I checked a few days ago and nothing so far.

Is this still the current AU version.

I don't know about you guys but the sat navs are so far behind when it comes to speed zones, road works. etc...I generally run Waze which is so much more up to date. I get sick of hearing the sat nav tell me about a speed camera that has been removed about 6 months ago.

Waze is totally awesome, I use it all the time.
Built-in maps are for the very rare occasion that my phone is not plugged in!

I was sent this from Kia today:

"The 2020 Update (V13) is currently scheduled to release in Q3 (Sep-Oct) of 2020. (We usually release our map updates around June each year).
We are very sorry for the delays in the release date due to the ongoing pandemic.
We are currently working to release our map updates biannually in the future.
Please keep an eye out for an official release date announcement from KIA Motors Australia."

Wasn't clear myself what biannually means (twice a year or once every two years) seems it can mean either.
Presuming Kia mean once every two years as that would be less work.

Many thanks for the advice @mitchyboy, good to know.
