So, I'm supposed to be getting my GTS in a few days and I havent seen a single person who seems to understand what the "drift" mode is. I'm hoping it's in the manual. Any enlightenment would be helpful.

You should get an instruction card illustrating when Drift Mode is engaged. But I can tell you: put drive mode into Sport, and engage Launch Control (turn off Traction and Stability Control, in other words). That's it. While set up in Sport and for Launch Control, if you drive it like you stole it, 100% of the power will go to the rear wheels.

Welcome to the forum. Another GTS is very cool to have around here.:)

Awesome. Thanks. I'm so stoked. Hoping it's delivered by Saturday.

GTS owner here. Merlin's instructions are spot on. And contrary to some content you'll find on the internet, there is no digital indicator that it is in "Drift Mode".

Thanks. I watch all the people reviewing the car and they all seemed clueless. I do find it funny they promote the car for the limited edition and drift mode. Yet they didn't number them or make an instant button for the mode. I'm so stoked to get the car I'm reading an online manual to acquaint myself with it before it arrives. Hoping Saturday.

Did you change anything on yours? I'm planning on all weather mats (live in Ohio), carbon fiber stinger emblem for the trunk (purchasing on the forum shop),. Maybe a remote start for my bday in October.

I love the car. You're really going to enjoy the D-AWD. We didn't have much of a winter here in Boston but it's great being able to switch from AWD to RWD. It's a fun and unique function. Mine is mostly stock but I have some plans for it and some JT parts on order. I would like some more of the OEM carbon fiber (diffuser, faux hood vents, and bumper vents) and I'd like some 3 piece wheels with polished lips and dark faces.

That sounds cool. Yeah, a little odd they didn't do everything in Carbon fiber. I have to get the wife past the initial purchase of the car. Next year I'll start on some of that as well.

The AWD was a huge draw for me as I was giving up my Tundra TRDpro to buy the car. The RWD will be fun for the summer. I have to swap out the summer tires this fall due to weather here. Not sure if I'm just buying new rims and tires or just replacing the tires all around on factory rims.

I don't mind the look of the stock wheels but I understand they are very heavy. I want to lighten up the corners. I'll likely do lighter weight rotors as well.

Hi Darthvader8,

Welcome to the club. I also have a GTS and it has been the best automotive choice I have made to date. I have a 2017 Fiesta ST that I may end up selling because the GTS is almost as fun to drive. What part of Ohio are you located in? I've got a few interior mods that I will be working on fairly soon. I've got the Korean console piece that has the door that covers the cupholders and a Hyundai N shifter.

I live near Lancaster. Believe it or not I just sold my 2018 civiic type R because I knew I could get my money back at this time. It was fun but we had a second kid and it just doesn't fit the family dynamic. The Stinger is more luxury and a hell of a lot more room. I don't think I've looked forward to getting a car as much as I have this one.

I've seen a lot of cool things. I'll probably drive it a few before doing much. I like the car stock but I'm sure I'll do some things.

You guys are both coming from some fun cars. My other car is a 2017 Golf R w/ built motor, big turbo, soon to be upgraded trans(full swap), and just about every other mod you can think of. It should make 600-650whp and run mid 10 second 1/4 miles easy.

With that said, I'm loving driving my mostly stock GTS while the R is down.

That's awesome to know. I haven't had much regret selling the Civic given why I had to sell it but the GTS will certainly make me feel better I'm sure.

welcome to the GTS club. I've owned my car since december and love it. I too have owned some fun cars Evo, SRT4, IS300, and currently miata is the fun car. The best part of this car in my opinion is you get all of the performance you could want in a street car and still get the warranty and practicality. Reminds me of my evo, but a much nicer place to be.

That was what drew me to the car also. Two kids but I can still have my fun. Love the tech for the money also.

I've had my GTS for 2 years and I love it. I just started throwing on some mods. K&N intake, Add W1Dual OCC's, KNS bov's. I want to replace the front oem emblem with a black new Kia logo but I don't know if it will work since the oem has holes.

Howdy and welcome. From what I've read the new KIA logo covers the holes.
I BELIEVE that it needs to be a hair of center. Nothing most would ever notice. Ive see it in person and it didn't stand out at all. Pretty sure there is a thread on this too

Yeah you'd think they'd have done a better job of advertising how to operate the D-AWD system on the GTS and Indigo. I really wonder about KIA some times.
