2.0 Premium Body Style

It seems that in Korea and UK the 2.0 Premium equivalent is offered with the GT body style.

This is absolutely what I want- the 2.0 with the more aggressive exterior styling features.

As much as I am intrigued by this year's Stinger offerings I am pretty sure I will not buy the base, and it is going to be a tough sell to get me to pay some $17K USD more to get into the GT1 (gotta have that moonroof). I am not an enthusiast so the 3.3 would just be performance wasted on my driving style and abilities.

I am hoping that some of the models advertised overseas as 2.0 GTs are the foreign equivalents of the US 2.0 Premium.

Does anyone know if this is the case? PLEASE KIA, sell me THIS car in the US! (Tan or light grey interior though- thanks!) The price, engine and tire specs in this video indicate that this indeed is the 2.0 Premium equivalent, so I am hopeful! Cheers and thanks for any info!

As far as I know there will be no "GT" styling elements on the Stinger 2.0T. The front bumper is less aggressive with no black chrome for the front grille, no vertical styling elements in the lower grille, no styling elements in the vertical air inlets on the front bumper, no strakes in the side air outlets behind the front wheels, no fake vents in the rear bumper by the tires, a different rear diffuser styling and no 19" wheel option. These are the things that set the more aggressive Stinger GT apart from the non-GT...

Would you by any chance speak Mandarin?

edit: I just saw - Cantonese. Jeez. Every time I meet somebody Chinese I feel like I picked the wrong language to study. Mandarin.

Mandarin is actually more useful in the business world as most mainlanders speak Mandarin.

But yeah I have no idea why KIA US decided on this options structure for the 2.0, I feel they are leaving a lot of sales on the table by not offering the GT "Line" in US.

Yes, that's why I chose to learn Mandarin. Actually, I go to a lot of Asian restaurants - mostly Japanese steakhouses - and when I was trying to decide which language to learn, Chinese or Japanese (because I eat so often at Japanese restaurants, I thought it would be helpful) - I learned that just about everyone in all these restaurants actually spoke in Chinese dialect. Upon further research, I found most people spoke Mandarin - and here I am today. I wanted to learn a second language that not everybody knows. I like being unique. Plus, Mandarin is the most popular language in the world. So I feel like I'm in good company. But it would be nice to learn Cantonese since my idle, Bruce Lee, spoke it.

Anyway - yeah, I feel it's not the greatest decision to keep the more aggressive features of the GT away from the 2.0T Stinger. But - that's probably intentional to keep the GT owners feeling more unique. I mean - maybe they want the GT owners to feel special for having purchased the top of the line vehicle. When I was growing up and Camaro's top of the line was the Iroc-Z and Firebird's top of the line was Trans Am GTA - those cars couldn't be had with the same appearance options either...

Add Australia to the list- the Aussie GT has the 2.0 and GT Sport the 3.3, both with the aggressive features. I am not sure how this strategy would be good in Australia but not the US. Maybe by 2019 Kia will adjust, or at least offer the front and rear GT bumpers as an option to the Stinger Premium. Holding out hope that there will be a way to get the one I want before I plunk down extra money for the Audi Sportback!

No 2.0 in Canada yet. Expected next year.

Canada is just getting the GT1 and GT2 equivalents, maybe with some variation. Possibly the GT1 and GT2, but 2 models both with 3.3T and AWD (for the snow!)

Thing is their high end offering is only like $40 K USD. It was mentioned in another thread.

If Kia is reading please make the front/back GT bumpers available as an option on the 2.0 Premium like in the other markets! Global supply chain/just in time logistics do your thing!

What do other brands do? I'm pretty sure they all have special enhancements that aren't available on their base models. I guess BMW has the M design kits and Lexus has the F design kits. Maybe Kia will do the same...
