This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi folks, I'm excited to take her on the final roadtrip in my bucket list (NC500).

I'm planning on going in March and aiming to be back home before the kids are released from school.

I'm hoping to alternate between hotel and car camping for a balanced budget and experience. My only worry is getting a flat as I have patch kits but hoping I get signal for the AA incase I breakdown.

I really want to do the apple cross pass but given the size of the vehicle, I might skip.

Given the 300mile range I think I'm safe without a petrol can as I will fill up as much as I can between towns

Starting in Inverness, 7 days counter clockwise.

Let me know if you have any tips for this trip.

Take lots of pics and come back and report. A road/pass that might be too small for a Stinger sounds like an adventure! I have no idea what you are describing as far as NC500, so, I will look it up on Google Maps.

And here it is. Beauty!

LOL! I think your worries are groundless.

Holy crap that is a narrow road alright. Our biking/jogging paths are almost that wide. Ha hah. But I see pullouts are a regular feature. And so is backing up to the last one I bet.

This is something I'd love to do myself one day, the scenery up there it breathtaking at every turn.

Me and the Mrs spent a week exploring in & around Inverness with the Stinger and it was about as comfortable/capable a drive as you could wish for. The roads probably get a bit more rural the further up you go but I wouldn't say you have anything to worry about, at their worst they were nowhere near as dicey as the single track roads of Cornwall.

If you're going to be car camping though just be prepared for low temps, things can get real chilly real quick up there and there's prob a good chance of snow in March.

While in Inverness though, if you get chance I can highly recommend a visit to Glen Strathfarrar for some hiking, they only let a few cars in per day so you more or less have it to yourself if you get there early...

Haven't done the full NC500, but a few years back we set off from Skye, over the bridge, did the Applecross road then on to Sheildaig and Torridon before heading inland at Kinlochewe to Aviemore.
Done to the top and back of the Applecross road a few times, this was our first time down into Applecross, yeah the roads aren't great, but we saw a Tesco home delivery van go over the summit whilst we were parked up. The only issue we had was a couple of highland cattle were sat/laid down on the road, so had to venture half off onto the grass, but I was in my Honda CRV at the time, the Stinger would have been a little more scary.

I've been asked by a few people what my car was, some thinking it looked very BMW esc. This car must be rare up here because I get more neck turns than down south.

Will post more photos in a few days as I cover the more jawdropping scenary in the west coast (weather permitting)

I've been alternating hotels but I had my first night camping in the car. I could stretch so easily, and had plenty of elbow room at the rear doors. I know some people don't like the slight incline (not fold flat seats) but I didn't mind. Best part was waking up in the morning and power opening the hatch to a beautiful sunrise view over the sea.

Great stuff. I responded to the "Pictorial" thread first before coming here. Ignore what I said there about needing "more dialogue".

Lol no worries, probably good to give some info to the US base in that thread as this one is less visible
Good call. You could just link to this dedicated trip thread that you created, then you wouldn't have to duplicate your efforts posting pics and descriptions. Unless you want to, of course.

Here's one for the calendar

Luckily the sun came out all morning even though we were forecast for rain for a few days. This is my favourite picture so far. I'm sure we will see much better scenery in 2 days (weather permitting)

The weather stopped playing nice so that's all for photos. I believe I have the best views left tomorrow and the day after so will update more pics (weather permitting)
