CAUTION TO ALL!!!!!!!

Good morning and Happy Labor Day Weekend to all!

I wanted to take a minute to say something to all members on this forum...last night a former Kia Stinger owner was killed in an auto accident in Newport News Virginia on interstate I-664. I am not sure what all the details are about the crash, however what i know it appears the Stinger Owner might have been driving reckless?? I live in this area, and have only seen a few Stingers, so this is hitting close to home as i consider a Stinger owner an extended family member.. Please to all, be CAREFUL and drive responsible!! This collision involved a Stinger contacting another Vehicle, and the second vehicle became air born and landed on the Stinger!! Stinger driver was killed by the other vehicle. Just please be careful driving and remind yourself to be the best driver possible, so you can enjoy life and stay safe for all!
Good Morning,
To reply, the driver of the Kia Stinger was not a reckless driver. He had reported issues with this car shortly after purchasing it and the auto dealer refused to take it back... now this accident. Investigation is on the way. The auto dealer will be summoned. But to clear your assumptions, he did not drive reckless, did not drink alcohol, and was wearing a seatbelt.

MODS: this thread is buggy. I keep getting it on the New Threads page and when it showed up in my Inbox it hadn't been updated and it opened at the OP and stayed there. Each time I open it the result is the same. First time this or anything like it has happened to me.

(edit to add: as soon as I posted this, the new post below Bumble Bee's showed up and the page kicked to the bottom. So maybe it was just a weird hiccup in the database or whathaveyou.)

I saw that same thing you did Merlin and now I see that your last post is #21 and so is the one before yours. I am partly posting this to see if it registers correctly and may even fix the post count. We will keep an eye on it and have Sal check it out if needed.

That is good news. This is a strange way to introduce yourself!

@Kia Sting

We appreciate you stopping by and with your first post giving us an update on this incident. I do not know if you were close to the person or how you got your information but if it is something we can pass along or that could help someone else from being injured or worse please let us know some more details. It is easy to assume driver fault but if there is an underlying vehicle issue that you could help us watch out for please do.

What were the issues reported to the dealer and how did they contribute to this horrible accident?

This would be good to know. If there is a fault with the vehicle that can lead to an accident, this is something we would like to know about.

Because I am a Luddite in my cells. And because of that I mistrust what I do not see, ergo, do not know, I expect something to reach out of this car's mysterious inner workings and snag me literally off the road, or into headon traffic, etc. I'll be carving a corner, holding the line, and abruptly, some symbiosis in the electronically balanced suspension, the stability and traction controls, the computerized power feed to front and rear, yea even each wheel, will cease to remain in balance, will catastrophically fail, and the car will, instead of being an extension of my will, turn into an alien entity and go whithersoever it listeth. Probably off the edge of a barrierless corner in Big Cottonwood canyon, or Little Cottonwood canyon, which curve shall ever after bear my name, alongside that of Ms Velarde who met her destiny there.

So, yes, it would be potentially helpful to know what (if any) mechanical malediction took this Stinger into the other car's lane, etc.

I am giving an update on the above comment, i work L.E. and reached out to a fellow co worker also.. he could not even comment to me on crash details. When its a Fatality such as this, it has to be investigated by Crash scene investigator. I only suggested that the vehicle might have been reckless, due to the fact that one car went air born. Typically this involves higher speeds to increase G force..unless the above person can elaborate more on this.. i am going to be weary of the validity of the prior post. I am trained in this field, and not speaking from lack of knowledge. Please keep any updates posted.. I am wondering if the above post is correct??? Maybe the Stinger involved had a locked up rear diff??

I saw this accident happen and the driver didn’t die instantly I watched him die. It was a very sad event that I wish I didn’t have to witness.

I normally do not respond to anonymous "Guest" posts. But I would like to know if you're a Forum member. This is a very random post you've shared. Nobody likes to be reminded of old, bad news. But if you want to talk about this more, please ID yourself and I will go from there.

I love the Stinger because i can drive it responsibly brutally fast for few min ( 3 am no cars on the freeway) and when you put it in eco mode is a super quiet almost luxurious car on the freeway at 65-70 mph when you just want to relax and commute or get your toilet paper hoarding regimen.
