US/CAN: Possible all-glass infotainment screen on the Stinger?

Thanks again for the assistance here.

I don't think your information is correct based on this:
https://www.kiamedia.com/us/en/models/stinger/2018/features

Here is what I would like confirmed, if possible.

ADAS package costs what?

ADAS includes:
  • FCA
  • FCWS
  • LKA
  • LDWS
  • DAW
  • HBA
  • BCW
  • RCCW
  • SCC
ADAS does NOT include rain sensing wipers.

If you want rain sensing wipers you must purchase AWD.

A heated steering wheel is standard on ALL trim levels. Round on 2.0T models. Flat-bottomed on all 3.3T models.

The US market will NOT be getting a 360 degree camera, rear heated seats and wireless charging.
Of course, but you do not have the information I have and I work with Kia. The rain sensing wipers only come with the ADAS package and if you want heated front seats you have to get AWD. The only 2 packages you can get are AWD and the ADAS packages. Rain sensing wipers are not standard on any trim so it only makes sense to be on the ADAS package.

Now, things are not final and can be changed at Kia's whim so I could be blowing smoke out my ass for all I know lol. Regardless, I technically have confidential information not for the public to see and I am going to go with that first. Even this information is missing somethings truthfully. I will be figuring out somethings tomorrow.

:P, that's also why I have been saying I am at Kia's whim. Somethings are not official even to me.

I think this is ONE of the big rubs with the release of this car. A crap ton of misleading and outright wrong information. Kia corporate can't even get correct info to their dealers let alone us poor idiots that want the car. (Not blaming you as I totally appreciate your helpfulness - just super frustrated that a ton of features that were supposed to be there, and are in a lot of markets are for some reason missing for the US market.)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
With the event tomorrow I hope to clear a few things.

I wouldn't even count on that. The information from participants at the "national media event" Tuesday and Wednesday has already been conflicting. I have no idea if information during other manufacturer's vehicle releases is this poorly disseminated, but this rollout is giving me overall concerns about the brand.

The event at my dealership is actually Kia's official training for salesman. We are just letting customers show up as well.

Nice. Wish I wasn't a thousand miles away. Please accept my request (along with plenty of others) to inquire about the 360° surround view camera option. I will patiently await disappointment optimistically await your findings.

LOL, I will be back in due haste sir!

Please tell them this has been a major point of question on the forums and that the highest end model should have it. I for one am willing to pay extra if it is at least an option.

I know you have no control over the information that Kia disseminates.

But one of my issues is, why give you different information than what Kia America posted on its website on 14Nov2017? How is confusing your customer base a good marketing plan for launching a brand new product?

Here is my guesstimate:

Heated seats are standard on every trim.

I agree there appears to be only two packages. One package contains all of the ADAS items and the other package includes AWD. If the GT2 trim comes standard with ADAS but DOES NOT have rain sensing wipers, then it cannot be included in that package. There are only two options on the GT2 trim level, rain sensing wipers and AWD. So ergo, rain sensing wipers and AWD are a package. And finally, that is also the only package offered on the GT2.

I am glad you are here and are trying to help clarify. It really appears that Kia needs more people like you to help launch their products.

I agree with your assessment, unless the PDF they put out is totally off base, this information disseminating to their dealers is wrong as well. They're bungling this launch. Maybe it is just growing pains though. I doubt people are following Soul and Optima launches like we are following the Stinger launch.

So, all I can say is wow. The car is awesome. its looks phenomenal just driving down the road. Its puts you back in that seat quick, sadly I couldn't go any faster than 50 mph lol. Now on to the rough news. No Surround View Monitor, no heated rear seats currently. From what I am gathering they are wanting to see what people are saying about the Stinger first. I am sure in say the next Gen they may add a few things based on the feedback. I wouldn't rule things out down the road.

Someone asked about the headliner, still no idea really based off each trim. Now, the rain sensing wipers. Based off what I have said so far is still what I am seeing, but I don't really have a definitive answer and neither do I want to put misleading information because somethings are still up in the air even for me. Did I miss anything else?

This car is not something that you would think Kia can do, I am blown away just by my short drive.

I just realized as well I didn't say something correctly on an earlier post. I meant to say that in order to get a heated steering wheel you have to get the AWD package. I accidentally said you can only get heated front seats by getting the AWD package lol, meant heated steering wheel.

Thanks for getting back to us the same day as your training.

Did you drive RWD or AWD?

Wireless charging? Any info there?

So on the GT2 you can get a heated steering wheel / AWD package and a single standalone rain sensing wiper option? Or are rain sensing wipers standard on the GT2?

I drove a GT2 AWD US spec model. Mmmm, going to be honest I wasn't really looking for that so I don't know. I don't think I saw wireless charging, but like I said I am not sure. My sources say it is standard on the GT2, but based off what you showed me and said I don't know and of course things could have been changed.

The last sentence was about the rain sensing wipers btw. Oh, forgot to say we have the nice all glass screen! It likes very sleek.

If you speak to any of your colleagues that were also at the training maybe you can see if they may have noticed the storage area under the HVAC controls.

Thanks again!
