Let's not forget that you can find a decent 7-8 inch android tablet for Android for under $100 that you could use for this purpose. I agree that's not ideal but a very viable alternative.

1000-1200 on the chip plus 100-300 on tablet. Not sure if that’s a smart choice let me take these out my list.

Apple is the problem here. Their restrictive model screws the end user. I wouldn't be blaming the vendor for this.

A dedicated tablet is a good way to go. I have three 8-10 inch tablets for various simple purposes like this and I didn't pay over 70 bucks for any of them. Do yourself a favor and buy one with Android 4.3 or higher. Some older and cheaper tablets are shipping with outdated versions of Android and cannot be upgraded.

Had to Google that. iPhone users make up appx 40% of the smart phone world.

Still a sizeable chunk of business to lose out on.
Lol. My statement was just a hyperbole to make a point, but thanks for looking that up and didn’t even know it was that high!

However, I swear it seems like everyone in SFL has an iPhone and in my local area it is the majority. So I agree, that’s a big chuck of business to lose out on no matter what the reason.

I understand your point, but wouldn’t think many people would want to keep a tablet in their hot car period, especially when other tuners are supporting iPhones.

Im not saying it’s a complete deal breaker, but hard to swallow that restriction when other similar options are more convenient.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I just saw a picture of the Lap3/Pro wiring harness, and counted at least 9 electrical connectors!!

Boy, this unit really seems to thoroughly integrate itself into a multitude of engine functions and seems to function with input from a fair number of engine sensors! Impressive compared to some of the other piggyback units!!

@LAP3 Tuning have you had a chance to test it with the Stinger 2.0 motor yet? Right now it is between you and Racechip for my money, but waiting on test results first :)

When will this ECU piggyback be released.....???? any updated??

The want is strong with this. Would love to know a release date.

Hello everyone. This is David Chung @ LAP3 USA. We at PROSS - LAP3 have invested an incredible amount of time and resources into making this new product for you. Today I would like to introduce a new product in our line-up; the LAP3 Pro-Tuner, that will revolutionize the sub ECU tuning solution for the Stinger platform. LAP3 Pro-Tuner comes with many features to fine tune your vehicle, which simple boost chips can not offer. You no longer have to rely on making more HP solely on maximizing the boost pressure, thus reliability is going to be one of the biggest key points of this new product. It will be available for the newer Hyundai/Kia gasoline turbocharged vehicles. We will set up dealers in the U.S. as well. More details to come. Stay tuned!

Hi David. Can you post an install guide for the new LAP3?

Based on the lack of updates I've lost interest. I can't see this doing any more (probably less) than the JB4 and Terry is constantly developing the system to add more options. I get the feeling it's going to be dead in the water before it's even officially released. Hope to be proved wrong though Lap3 :)

Just found this on FB....

Kia Stinger GT - LAP3 Pro-Tuner R&D Update!
The result is fantastic. 440ps/63.95kg-m (434whp/462ft-lbs), running 93 octane.
The vehicle is completely stock besides the K&N Intakes! Despite the extremely hot weather condition, we were able to bump up the power even further. We are still working a few more things, planning on making 440whp+ on a near stock Stinger before we release the Pro-Tuner in the U.S.

Just saw that on FB as well.

Interesting numbers!!

Factor in a 15% driveline loss and you're looking at 500 crank HP and 530 Ft Lbs!!

I wonder if these numbers were achieved with full K&N intakes or just drop-in filters?

Actually, pricing is in line with others. Consider the cost of an ECU tune, and a spare ECU to retain your warranty and you're looking at $1500-$1700

My big question would be: How much different is the tune of the Lap3 Pro from a full ECU tune? Similar, a little different, or is an ECU tune still much more involved than the Lap3 Pro?

It says K&N intakes in the description.

It definitely looks like a lot because for every sensor you tap you usually need two connectors. So if you tap the TMAP and the MAP sensor and both wideband sensors, that will require 8 connectors, other connectors are probably for the Meth integration and maybe CANbus connection. The one connector that looks interesting to me is the big one on the top left which doesn't seem to have another connector to close the loop.

You already have most of these available in the JB4 for much cheaper (less than $600 for everything) and works on IOS and Android and a dedicated english forum with support and continuous development. I just made 418whp on the JB4 with HKS plugs only and not even on the most aggressive MAP.

I had similar oscillations on the dyno also, seems the dynojet doesn't like the Stinger.
MAP 0 - 341whp / 387wtq - Baseline
MAP 1 - 393whp / 466wtq
MAP 2 - 402whp / 484wtq
MAP 3 - 418whp / 477wtq

Still two more aggressive maps to go.

Does it require HKS plugs?
