Front license plate and brackets

Only problem with velcro would be someone could just grab your plate and go.

I actually used my tow hook from my genesis but the stupid front sensor would keep going off no matter where i moved it. Your telling me this one does not interfere with your sensors?

No issues with sensors. Been driving with it for a few days now. No false sensor beeps yet.

They would have to go out of their way to see how the plate is attached. If they really wanted it so much, there's always the trust old screwdriver.

Just ordered this off Amazon. Fits great and supports the entire license plate. Ive had trouble in the past with plate frames that do not extend all the way to the sides of the plate. The plate will get bent over time (or very quickly in a car wash).

Dude! Thanks for this! I now have my parking sensor back. (IOW, it works great). A couple words of caution:

If you have a tap the size of the screws, I would clean out the coating in the screw holes...they made it diffficult to get the screws in at first, and I ended up stripping one. After that, I just eased them in and out gently until the screw holes were workable. Took me an additional 10 minutes or so t get them all worked.

Not only that, I didn't realize the passenger side sensor was so low, so upon first placement, my sensor was still going off. Thinking I might be hosed until I could drill it out and find a replacement screw, I realized I could just remove the other screw (the two on the curved adapter piece) and flip the adapter over, thus moving the whole assembly 2" to the driver's side. That fixed it completely.

I think it was around $70 on Amazon, but I feel a lot better about having a more secure piece, and having my parking sensor available again.

Two more things...one, you'll want a socket to tighten the tow hook adapter, because you're going to be pretty close to the bumper and if you don't want to scratch it, I'd recommend the socket. Also, if you have an older plate like I do (with worn screw holes) you'll probably want to find some washers. (I've transferred the same plates I've had since around 2002 between every car I've had since then). Oh, and don't forget to leave the tools in the glovebox or trunk in case you need to be towed.

Oh, also...velcro has one other problem...it's not really meant to withstand rain, salt, and especially UV. It will degrade over time, and you'll probably lose your plate (hopefully without hurting the car) at some point unless you keep replacing it.

I am using exterior-grade Velco, made to withstand the elements.

Do you have more pictures??

I purchased a similar tow hook license plate as Frennzy did.

No Hole Tow Hook License Plate Mount For Hyundai Genesis Coupe

The standard holes for the mount triggered the front sensor, but I noticed that when I screwed it into the license plate hole at the far upper edge, it was fine. Took the plate to an auto shop, and they drilled a hole on the same horizontal plane as the license plate hole, but closer to the center. Tried it on the car and it worked without a problem. The downside though is that I lose the ability to contour the plate to the curve of the car, so I'll probably look for a replacement once a better option becomes available.

Posting pics of the trial and error process I had. Once I get my plates from the dealer, I'll post the finished product for reference.
Do you more pictures and did you plate bend?

Here it is on mine

Do base models have front parking sensors? I just picked up my car today and the dealer did not mount the front plate so I was looking into a tow hook mount. From what I can tell, my base model doesnt have any of the parking features.

Do you have the 4 small circles on the front bumper as in the pic above?

So if someone steals your front plate just do a report for that issue. Believe me I had to do that once. Then if the police would run your plate it would say stolen front plate.

Heres what I did..

I guess I do have front parking sensors. I got the cheap $20 tow hook plate bracket from amazon that someone posted on one of these threads and I must say for 20 bucks it worked good and looks good. I just have to get a plate cover to finish and clean up the look. Thanks to who ever posted about this tow hook plate bracket.

Ucinn, yes i did that before. screws into round frame bar. Under front removeable plastic. Looks good!

I see this subject has the attention of many. My state requires a front plate (so they can catch us on the cameras). After receiving enough fix it tickets for NO displayed front plate (different vehicles), I decided to take a new approach this time. My profile pics show I have a full sized mounted readable license plate with; no airflow interference - no drilled holes in my bumper - no camera operation interference. As much as I wanted to mount a motorcycle plate up front (which would fit in the small space on the bumper), California had no way of getting both sizes. Thus far - no issues and no ticket. That's not to say it won't happen.. My ONLY drawback thus far is a large dip poses potential for a scrape on the plate. I'll post more detailed pics once I take them. db

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I just got to Germany and my Stinger will be here next week. I was just told today that they won't let me take the vehicle without the front plate mounted. I didn't want to drill on the bumper so I rush ordered a mount that should be here in a few days if it ships out like it's supposed to. I wound up going with the tow hook bracket for a quick fix and decided to go ahead and get the sly bracket when they become available in late September (backordered right now). I really like the slybracket for what I expect will look like a more natural placement for the license plate, front and center.

I can't wait to take the Stinger out on the Autobahn! I shipped the car on July 19th and it feels like it's been forever since I have driven it.
