for all the folks who wish they had a louder car every once in a while, but also appreciate the luxury of a quiet car the rest of the time, how about electronic cut-outs? They are easy to add, and readily available through summit racing, Jegs, etc. just cut and splice them in, mount a switch on the dash or in the center console and you have an instant muffler delete car with the flip of a switch. (Listen to Tork's muffler delete car for reference.) the restricting bends in the exhaust could probably be dealt with in the same way, chop it out and replace it with another less restrictive section. just a thought;)

I gave it serious consideration. I even had a set in my Amazon cart. The set I was looking at had a wireless key fob for the actuation instead of needing to be wired and mounted.

Ultimately I passed on them when I looked under the car and realized how limited the space is.

Here's a pic of my exhaust. You can see there really isn't a good location for cutouts.

I was wondering about that. I haven't spent any time underneath my stinger but I was in the garage hanging exhaust under my 68 firebird when it dawned on me. That's a good looking exhaust under your car.

Thanks. The only area I can think about for cutouts would be between the muffler and axle. But it's a really small window with limited clearance.

Now I want to see a stock stinger exhaust. Too lazy and too busy to go out and look under my own. Wonder if there is an opportunity to lop something off and weld in right at the rear valance. Your exhaust appears to have two mufflers, does the stock stinger exhaust? Or is that one of those hamhock resonators? Regardless, looks like if you had a single muffler in line there might be a spot there after all. If I wasn't so tied up with this damn firebird at the moment I would put the stinger on a lift and check it out!!

Lmao. Yes, one of the mufflers is actually a resonator. But together they are probably close to the size of the stock muffler. The stock ones are actually really wide.
