Ok fuel...91 or 95 which is better to use in the Stinger?

I've only ever filled 98 from Shell. I use to work for one of the other fuel companies. 98 shell always tested best
 
I always use Shell V-Power 98 & I always will .

The only 95 u should buy if your where going would be caltex vortex 95 that does have the additives in the fuel. But I wouldn't purchase anything else from there

I don't believe it has any cleaning additives for the engine. Caltex only do for the vortex 95.
I filled up today 98 at shell and it was $1.72 a lt. And apparently it's about to go up..... Crazy

RON is always about 4 to 5 points higher than the equivalent PON (Pump Octane number = AKI):


USA (AKI/PON) --- Europe (RON)

87 = 91
89 = 93
91 = 95
93 = 98

OK, my 2 cents on this subject & I am sure there will be opposing views but here goes: 98 costs more sure but it burns cleaner & will keep fuel injectors/system cleaner, it is also proven that you can go further on a tank of fuel compared to lower fuels thus negates the extra price paid at the pump.
 
used 98 only so far and trying to set up a baseline using different driving modes.
Might try 95 in future to compare but trying to stick with 98 as price at Costco is similar to 95 elsewhere.
 
All that really matters is that the fuel does not have ethanol added to it. Big problem here in the states. Ethanol will gum up the works. Around where I am, only non-ethanol fuel is 91 PON.
 
All grades have Ethanol here (Southeast US) - you can find a few stations with non-Ethanol, but it's more expensive than premium.

Higher octane does not equate to "cleaner burning", and it's certainly not "better" for your vehicle unless it's required by the manufacturer - it's just that many brands will put the additives in to higher grades to get people to pay for the more expensive fuel.

With turbo motor I suspect oem tune optimizes to at least 95. I can feel difference from 91 to my custom blend of race gas to get to 95 or 96.
 
I started on 91. Got my average Km per litre and calculated that at 19c extra per litre, 98 will cost me about an exta $600 per year. So 98 all the way.
