I have run both maps on my car now. I have the 3.3TT GT2 AWD. Map 1 wasn’t to noticeable over stock. Map2 feels like it gives the car more snort and feels more torquey at lower rpm’s. I have as stated in other posts haven’t ran it to long or at high speed yet for an extended period of time. I’m going to do some data logging for Burger “Terry” when I get more time to just go out and run it hard. I have installed the HKS45il plugs gapped to .024 to reduce “spark blow out” that the stock plugs gapped at .036 seem to have problems with.
Anyone running stock plugs regapped please chime in if your having issues still.

Running map 2 on 93 octane stock plugs gapped at .28, Very happy. I smoked a full bolt on Evo 10 like he was standing still. I honestly believe people should just stick with the stock plugs and re-gap them to .24 or .28. Colder plugs are great but they will foul out quick and you will be replacing them before you know it.

I tend to agree. Stock plugs are a 7 heat range, which should provide plenty of overhead approaching 500whp. After that, an 8 might be in order, but I would definitely not recommend anything in the 9 range like the HKS 45il's. Unless you are really getting them real hot on a daily basis, you are probably going to foul plugs in less than 20K with a too cold, close gapped plug. The factory plugs are a high quality plug, similar to what runs in S63 TT v8s in BMW's. With a correct gap, they should allow for solid performance for most bolt ons, and near term tuning options.

I just re-gapped to .025

How is map 2 treating you guys?

I haven't reinstalled it yet. Previously I only ran map 1 with no issues.

I wanted to see how the cars were handling map 2 before trying it out.

Dumb question .... can dealer notice if you regap? I don’t know much about working on cars so.... and is this beneficial even without wanting to use a piggyback?

If your not running the piggyback it’s probably not worth going thru the effort of regapping. And yes if the car ever needs repaired involving the spark plugs a good mechanic might check the gap.

Thanks! Don’t want that warranty voided. I really just want to do some basic bolt ones like exhaust and intake ... guessing that will void as well ha

How has the car been behaving lately?

You don't drive in the rain...?
LOL. I knew that was going to be the next question! I drive and work in the rain every day, just don’t drive the Stinger...... I bought it as a collection car. I told the wife when I bought it that there will be no kids in it and it’s not getting driven in the rain or snow. Damn thing is to hard to keep clean! Hell it only has 310 miles on it and half of those are from bring it home and back to the dealership for the rear window brake light flasher thingy they hadn’t installed before I bought it.

Depends on what kind of issues you might ever have needing something warranted??? Exhaust possibly could cause warranty issues but as for the intake probably not depending on the manufacturer. I have the K&N typhoons on mine and it is said they won’t void factory warranty by the manufacturer itself.

How much did you pay for those ? Tork offers one that’s much cheaper and very similar. However if it doesn’t void warranty then I might have to go with that. Was there any power increase?

I bought mine from K5Optima store. They were 409. They’re 419 anywhere else. Are you drive the 3.3TT or the 2.0? The power gain difference is hard to say but K&N says its increased. It sounds awesome! Definitely noticed a power increase running the JB4 though.

The 3.3.... just curious how much more sound you get ? I’d buy it for that if sound and turbos sound much louder

It makes it quite a bit louder. There's a couple of videos in the engine modifications sub forum.

Here's one.

@Kamuaxx posted a good video. You can buy any intakes you’d like. I just voiced my opinion on the warranty question. Installing either intakes you choose will make your driving experience allot more envigorating!

1000 mile update. So far so good. I'm using jb4 with BT connect. The JB4 is set to map 0 (stock tune) for around town. When its time to race, Map 2 awakens the beast. A little background... The stock plugs are gapped at .28, Also running an ethanol blend, about e20. (93 + e85). Overall everything runs great. When I first started using the jb4 on map 1 with 93 octane, I did notice small breakups in the lower RPMs on load. This was solved by re-gapping the plugs to .28. Overall everything is good. The JB connect is perfect. I like the stock tune with an option for kill mode. Oh, and the car loves the e-blend on the stock tune.
