Texas Stinger Swarm
Just wondering if there any stinger owners close to my area?
That’s awesome! Somewhat close! I’m in Brownsville TexasWell, not in Texas but on the other side of the "pond". Specifically, Coahuila México, a city named Nueva Rosita, about 65 miles aprox. far from the border, Eagle Pass, Texas.
I'm waiting for the delivery of my Stinger GTT V6 RWD (the sole version in Mexico) white /red, to the Kia dealer nearest my town. That dealer is located in Monclova Coahuila, 120 miles south far from my town.
No problem glad to have met you as well great modifications! I trade in my Kia Optima for stinger. I’ve only made changes of the appearance of my car. I’m not to sure what to add to mine it is a 2.0tGlad to meet you. I honestly did not think you'd answer. I've wanted to contact other mexican fellow Stinger owners within Mexico and they did not have the kindness to answer my greetings.....not big deal anyways....
I hope we can share experiences with this wonderful car. I am trading it with my former 2016 Nissan Maxima SR, modified with Y pipe, K&N CAI and OEM aesthetic accesories. The Stinger has all the tech and equipment features in the Maxima Platinum (top of the line and more expensive) and the SR ones, and much more.
Take care
Thank you for showing the windshield reflector and I have been thinking about this! I mostly likely purchase thisFirst adition to my new Stinger is : I have ordered a heatshield (faithful client of this business since 1997 with my former 1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans am) for the windshield made it custom fit, very pleased with its performance to protect the car's console from the sun, now more necessary with th screen exposed. Highly recommended Heatshield Store - Advanced Windshield Reflector
Then, OEM accesories: the splash guards, the floor mats all weather and the cargo net floor. These accesories are not available in mexican KIA dealers yet, so i will purchase them on eBay. The high prices plus tax in Texas are not suitable for me.
The Stinger is brand new model, the performance mods are in test yet, so I'm going to wait until I read they are fail safe, like the Race chip.
The K&N cold air intake is for me well known because I have installed it in my 97 Trans am, 2010 Altima SR and 2016 Maxima. Seems to be, it add 9 HPs to the Stinger engine and a better sport sound......just maybe, I will install it on my Stinger, but not for now, because I'd like to test and enjoy the car first without performance mods in order to evaluate the difference between stock and modded.
The Borla catback exhaust is another history, it will add 20 HPs by itself, but is pricey and seems generate a loud noise.....I have not found a decent youtube video to listen and decide.
Enjoy your car....we live once only...
Regards
Still up and running lol if you’re interested we are all getting together June 30th in AustinI don’t know if this thread is dead yet. But I’m on the coast of Texas located 4 hours from Brownsville.
If time allows it I'll be there. However for now I will be attending the next Coffee and Cars in Houston next month if you guys are interested.
