MIchelin Tyre Warranty

recently took my 2022 Stinger 3.3Lt TCI/T-GDI V6 2WD for a routine service (36 months) vehicle has around 25K.
These are the top of the line Pilot sport tyres which

After the service I was presented with a vehicle report which stated I needed to replace 3 tyres which I was a bit shocked as the car has low mileage. the car is very pampered, I don't hoon around eihthe.

Has anyone ever submitted a warranty claim with Michelin?

Not sure, ditched those tires because I live in a cooler climate. But, if you purchased the car new

I would say that they should have some sort of warranty.

The tread wear warranty for the Michelin PS4 tires is 30k kms (15k kms for staggered fitment)...

Not in OZ it isn't mine were on the wear bars at 16000km's, tyres are a consumable item !

Roads in NZ are pretty rough on tyres (had to change both rears at 20000 kms - no loss of traction driving)
I long for a smooth black top road surface.

I replaced my stock tyres at 25,000kms. Those Michelins don't have good treadwear.

Switched to Kumho Ecsta PS51s and am absolutely enjoying the low noise and comfort. They handle pretty well in corners too, thanks to the stiff sidewall.

20,000kms in, and there's still plenty of treadwear left.

Thought tyres would be the same as the battery, 12 months warranty. Replaced my Michelins just recently at 36000kms. The front tyres were delaminating but I thought for what type of vehicle it is, this range was acceptable. Also replaced them with the Kumhos which so far have been good.

I doubt you will get anything out of warranty unless the tread is detaching. Tyre Wear? Nup.

I had a second dealer service at 20,000kms and they advised the tyres would be in need of replacement by 30,000kms.

Normal city driving.

They are a shit soft tyre that are far too expensive.

I had Dunlop Direzza D102 on my SSV Commodore and I got 50,000kms out of them. Half the price last twice as long.

I'm not sure if they are available there, but I've been running Continental DSW06+ tires since my stock Michelin PS4S's ran out of treadlife around 15k miles. So far they've been solid.

Well Michelin will be replacing every tyre on a Stinger then because 30,000kms is what they get.

If they are different sizes front and rear the warranty whatever it is is "halved" because they cant be rotated. That will be far less than your 25Ks

I dont reckon you will get any warranty at all.

But if you do and thats a big IF unless the side walls are bulging or the tread has separated from the body of the tyre, if it is just low tread. the best you "may" get is a Pro Rata offer.

Pro Rata is not worth the paper it is written on because what they do is take "wear" off the price of a new recommended retail price of a tyre and you will pay new "discount" price anyway.

I had to replace ONE brand new tyre on a Stinger because it caught a chard of metal on the road. They didnt stock the Pilot Sport 4 only the Pilot Sport 4S in Australia which has a stiffer side wall but same tread pattern for $100 MORE. $550. It was a rip off.

Never ever ever again buying Michelinand it is a Pilot Sport 5 now so good luck with that.

Pirelli are $150 off for four at the moment at Bob Jane. Buy them instead. Good enough for Formula One

Not sure if you mean 25k miles or 25k kilos but that is par for the corse.

Pilot sports have a 28k mile warranty (so 45k kilos) BUT that gets cut in half when you have staggard fit wheels (thus unable to rotate them between axles).
Thus 14k miles (22500 kilos) is the factory tread life rating (which is assuming ideal driver and ideal roads)

I have a bit of a lead foot and I get about 10k miles out of the rears and 20k miles out of the fronts, basically I replace the rears every 11-14 months and I replace the front every other time I do the rears.

Will look into the Pirelli’s
Had them on a )ag years ago never had a problem.
