Aftermarket H pipe?

Hi all!

In terms of exhaust I’m currently rocking the ultimate performance hfc midpipe downpipe combo, MBRP resonators, MBRP cat back. I wanted to swap out the X pipe to a 2.5in H pipe. Anyone know where I can find it? I see one “universal” h pipe from Bullet but I’m not too confident if it will fit in the car. And I want to install an after market h pipe while keeping the resonator.

any good muffler shop will either have an h pipe in stock or be able to make one quickly.

Oh wow I didn’t know that. Just looked up a shop on google there’s one by me. Thank you snow!

Do you have a rough ballpark estimate on how much it would cost if they had to make one and labor vs if they already have one and labor.

pricing for muffler shops varies greatly; down here in S Florida you'd probably be looking at $150 for all of it from the shop I usually go to; but your mileage will vary.

just wanted to provide an update. I followed your suggestion and the muffler shop was able to procure a h pipe and install it. He also found some leak on the pipes about a foot away from the muffler and fixed it for me as well.

Car sounds AMAZINNGG. No more rasp and annoying high pitch. The deep growl is absolutely amazing.

I did have one last question now that I know that muffler shops can make the pipe - I was looking into resonator delete. Do I need a resonator delete kit? Or can they just make the pipe again to replace the resonator?

they can custom cut and bend pipe to delete it. I suggest you go with stainless pipes and mandrel bends (mandrel bends don't crimp the pipe and thus don't reduce the internal volume.)

cough, cough...SOUND CLIP PLEASE....cough cough..

Haha I gotchu snow. I just called up the shop he said bending isn’t necessary since the pipe is straight already. But does have stainless steel pipe and 100 for each pipe and that includes installation. I’ll send you the clip after the delete :)

I gotchu. I’ll record one in the next hour. But it will be a warm start - been driving around all day.
How the hell do I send you a sound clip? It’s only letting me send pictures.

man that sounds fantastic. I wouldn't remove the resonators and just leave it be

I agree with Snowwhite, that sounds great! One of the better sounding setups I've heard and I'm assuming it sounds even better in person, the video's never sound quite the same as the real thing. Is yours a 22+ with the active valves?

Thank you man, yah it’s the MBRP with active valve. I installed the valve control so I can keep the valve open even on comfort mode.

Sounds pretty damn good!

This is pretty cool idea to do an H pipe! I wonder how the borla active would be with an H pipe. Maybe it will reduce the high pitch/rasp a bit. At least it would be easy to revert back keeping your stock x pipe and having the muffler shop make an H pipe.

Definitely sounds great with your setup now. Do you have any pictures you can post maybe?

With the H pipe on Borla if you have after market down pipes and hfc it’s gonna sound like a mustang 5.0 I feel lol but yes the rasp reduction was tremendous. Borla already has pretty deep sounding tone but I feel the h pipe will make it sound meaner.

I think you might be right lol I have stock primary and ark midpipe. Most likely am not going to bother anyway.

The way it is now is literally near perfect. Can fully close or open valve with the apr wireless controller. I pretty much leave it open unless i get on the freeway usually when I close to get a quieter ride. I don't like the stock behavior of the borla active with valves closed on cold starts. I want my neighbors to feel my wrath! :D

Thanks for responding.
