It’s been like a month and my Stinger has been taking a very long time to start but only when it’s a cold start, when the engine is warm it starts just fine. When it’s a cold start, the car makes a long loud noise like something grinding. I was going to record a video but I kept forgetting everyday. Could it be the battery or the starter that has the issues? I’m going to take it to the dealer probably tomorrow.

How cold are we talking?

When I was starting the car during the warmer months it fired up instantly. On the colder months there were (at times) about a two second delay. I never heard any strange sounds though.

Year and mileage? Yeah... dealership should know what to do... hopefully... :p :p

Good luck and keep us posted!! :thumbup::thumbup:

Well, it never gets very cold in my country but right now the weather is around 30C at 2 AM or about 86F. Also, it’s just a regular cold start when I haven’t turned on the car after like 15+ hours.

I’ll be sure to keep you posted on what the dealer says! I have a feeling that it’s either the starter or the battery that’s having issues.

The car is a 2020MY but I got it in June 2019, and it’s at 33K miles right now.

I misunderstood then! My apologies!

Definitely take it to the dealership. Record the problem with your phone before you go though since dealerships in general seem to often be unable to reproduce the problems. :p

Good luck!! :thumbup::thumbup:

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Update? Mind doing the same thing

do you have a video?
are you also in a 30C temperature climate?
Yes I have a video of the grind noise on cold start. The noise happens right after the engine starts up and lasts for about a second. Sounds like a rattle/ grind. Listen carefully but don’t put your phone up to your ear just have it on higher volume. Here’s the link:

Almost sounds like the starter is staying engaged for ~0.5 seconds longer than needed.

Does this only happen when the vehicle as been sitting for hours? or on every start?

Only happens when it sits for hours. The starter makes a grind sound like that?
