so I was driving along heading to the store when the power cut off and back on, then I had several warning lights come on. It wouldn't accelerate like normal and luckily I was close to my destination so I just pulled on in and parked. of course I turned the car off and let it sit and attempted to restart it. no deal. windows won't roll up and can't close sunroof, the UVO infotainment doesnt startup either. I let the back seat down to get to the manual switch to open the trunk. I then disconnected the battery and let it sit. still the same thing. it says check brake switch fuse, and tpms system. symptoms leading up to this sometimes while driving it would flash check tpms system. on a cold startup it seems like the exhaust would kind of stutter the first few seconds before returning to normal. also sometimes it seemed like a pause before switching gears, or like violent switching where there is kind of a jerk. this has been going on for a few weeks I guess.

what do you all think might be the cause and how much to fix it ?

Gonna have to be a lot more clear, with more relevant details

What exactly occurs presently when you try to start the car? What sounds are made. (Video would help)

The TPMS issue has nothing to do with a no start condition.

Are the windows and sunroof still open? What happens when you try to close them with the ignition turned on?

You said "it says check brake switch fuse" - WHAT says check brake switch fuse? A code reader?

when try to start the dash screen comes on like in the picture. it doesnt not even attempt to turnover. cannot place it into neutral or anything. nothing happens when you try to close the windows or sunroof. overhead lights don't work. the dash screen says check brake switch fuse before it says to check the tpms system.

So what is the status of the brake switch fuse?

Another user had this as the solution.

I think as our cars age, it would be a good idea to just get one of these switches and keep on hand until needed.

So is the fuse integral to the brake switch itself? It as simple as just replacing that part? Seems like a scary situation to deal with, but if it is easily remedied by a simple replacement of that switch then I guess it could be worse?

wondering what the resolution is....

but I did lean from this thread - we can start our cars without pressing the brake - by pressing and holding the start button for 10s, from the accessory screen.
Tried it yesterday - confirmed it does start without touching the brake - nifty - not sure when we would need to do that, but we can.

I'm getting it to a shop today and hopefully get a full picture of what's wrong. the brake switch definitely seems to be an issue but could be a symptom of something else.

Brake lights work?

I'll be watching this. electronic gremlins just reading about them makes me want to go to sleep and never wake up.

Ok i got an update for you guys. They tell me that there was a major fuse blown that they are not sure happened before or after i went into limp mode. they said they were able to start the car by bypassing said fuse with a circuit breaker or something. also that the battery was testing bad. they left the battery to charge overnight and today it would not hold a full capacity charge. I honestly don't know if its the original battery from 2018 but it could be. I can't recall a time i've went into service and they said the battery needed to be replaced but its also something I wouldn't necessarily store in my mental rolodex.

they say they replaced the fuse and waiting on a new fuse link that will arrive today and will replace the battery. when they start it up now there are no more errors popping up. they will go our for test drives and if nothing comes up i guess i'm good to go.

Thanks for sharing the update.

Wonder what the "major fuse" was.

only cost around $550 to fix. I was scared as hell this issue was going to be a few grand. maybe it would've been if I had gone to the dealership.

Glad your happy with the price.

Must be a hella expensive fuse and/or fusable link.... and many hours of diagnosis.

Would love to know which one or which fuses were blown.

And for you, you must be curious about the cause? Is this likely to reoccur?

Fuses typically don't blow with age.
