Greetings everyone, new to the forum so hopefully this section is the correct place for this question.

Long story short, I like the look of the GT-Line DRL’s more than the GT2 “W” shaped lights. Is it possible to swap these units, or is it just not worth it mechanically? I assume a swap would cause issues with things like LED bulbs, the adaptive headlights and so on. Any insight would be appreciated!

'w'? more like two lazy 'L's. can't positively answer your question about compatibility. I say probably yes, because kia made different trims to use the halogen and led headlights. so it makes sense that the two different styles of led headlights would work on the different trims now. but cost prohibitive. these headlight assemblies are over a thousand dollars each.

Yeah the more I thought about the time/money cost of the swap I don’t think it’s worth it. One of the only cosmetic things I don’t like about my car is the DRL’s, to me they just look phoned in and not very distinctive. I’ve tried looking at the aftermarket to see if any company has done a different design for them but haven’t had any luck.

The GT-Line 22+ DRL's have lights at the top and bottom of the lens instead of the old fisheye look they used to have before the facelift. The 22 GT1 also had the same DRL. GT2's have the DRLs at the bottom with an L or a wave sort of look.

Ah I didn't realize he was talking about the 2022+ cars. Anyways the 2022+ gt-line/gt1 with those lights are not as good I thought because the lights aren't projectors. Seems like a step backwards just for a different style drl. I guess he could see if anybody wanted to swap. Maybe they prefer the older style ones?

Yeah I would be hesitant to give up the LED headlights just for the look of the GT Line DRL’s, I’ve just always thought the GT Line ones looked a little cooler and more distinctive I guess ‍

Hey I totally get it, I'm still in the process of swapping my 2020 tail lights/turn signals to the 2022+ style with the Korean spec sequential turn signals. I actually like the 18-21 style lights better when on but I never was a fan of how the car looks like a Robin mask from the rear when the lights are off.

I’m interested to see if there’s any aftermarket companies that do different lighting options for our cars, at least in terms of headlights/DRL’s. I feel like Mustangs/Chargers/Camaros have a plethora of options to customize theirs but I haven’t been able to find anything really

For real! Does anyone have anything on this? I need them too.
