• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I've been putting a lot of work into getting my Stinger race-ready for the local track here in Denver. I'm wondering if anyone at altitude has broken 11s 1/4 mile times and what you currently have done.

My mods include:

HKS M45iL Plugs .022
K&N Typhoon Intakes
JB4
Fuel Wires
EWG Wires
BMS FMIC
JA Big Mouth AirScoops
BMS WMI
SXTH EK1PRO (With BMS BEF and SXTH TCU Stage 1 LC)

I usually run 91 octane with the WMI but also have access to E85. However, running the E85 has offered little difference in power over the 91+WMI.

My current issue is, I was running a 12.6 with just the JB4 and WMI. After working with Terry at Burger and flashing the ECU and TCU, I'm now running 12.3 quarters. Not a big difference for the money (EK1Pro and tune costs). I'm curious what I'm missing and if anyone up here at altitude is consistently running 11s at the speedway. (Times verified via Dragy)

From what Ive seen on facebook, its literally the altitude making the difference. A 12.3 In Denver should be close to a high/mid 11 most other places. Also, I would run an e30 mix while also using the WMI.

The 12.3 time was with an E30 mix. I felt that even with the BEF, the car just didn't feel any stronger than running the JB4/WMI alone. A friend of mine uses the brake snip for launch and it's much more aggressive feeling than the TCU launch control. We ran last year at the speedway here and he ran a 12.00 flat with WMI (No ECU or TCU flash).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Your IGN1 target is Low. Its averaging 15ish, which is on the high end of what the JB4 can do. I would ask terry why its low. It should be between 18-20 for the boost levels you have.

Must be doing the best I can for the mods, given the altitude. Not sure what else to do. Worked with Terry on some new ECU flashes, ran Map 7, ran Map 5, increased timing, tried maps again, pushed the E85 up closer to E40... Still running about the same times. I'm still running factory exhaust and cats. I've heard changing these only makes it sound different and doesn't add too much to the performance. Given the current mods, would this be even worth the upgrade at altitude?
