Is anyone going to keep their Stinger long term?

I usually lease cars but my current 22 2.5T hits all the marks for me. Heated seats and steering wheel, lane keep, nice screen, direct plus port injection, AWD, great ride and I just love looking at it.

My dealer provides 4 oil changes for free and since I wasn't originally going to keep it, I've already used 3 oil changes and it only has 13k on it. Lease is up in May.

So if I keep it I not only have a known history of the car, the oil has been changed with full synthetic every 6 months well under the recommended interval. And I would keep that up no problem.

My car has none of the concerns I see in the forums that some unfortunate folks have had. It's very well put together. I have the hatch clunk but took care of that with the black electrical tape trick.

I would normally lease something else soon but nothing is blowing my skirt up. ES350's are very nice but not interested in a $50k car since there are no good incentives, at least not this month.

So how many of you would trust a babied and well maintained 2.5 to go 200k and beyond? I can definitely see myself happy with this car for a very long time.

However a concern of mine is once out of warranty, how difficult will it be to find parts for a discontinued car that never sold well?

It's also tempting to take advantage of the equity. My last lease, a 19 Stinger, got me a check for $8K when I sold it to the dealer. it looks like the same story on this one.

I think it's too early to tell with this drivetrain. There may be some posts from 2.0 owners with higher mileage. If you negotiated a good residual value, might just be worth buying it out then.

I don't have any plans on changing cars. I bought it cause I wanted that particular car going forward.

You have to pay tax every time you buy a car new or used here. Its not worth the extra $5k to keep switching cars in this price range. I'm going long term and bought the extended warranty when I bought the car. I'm also worried about parts availability.

I'm always planning on keeping my car for at least 10 years. But in the last 20 years I've changed around 10 cars. Hopefully my plan works out with stinger.

I'll keep it in my family for as long as it is reliable enough. That said, I will probably switch to a different daily driver after it is paid off.

Bought mine 4 years ago and getting close to 100k miles. It's the 2.0 RWD. Honestly, it is a great car and I'm planning on keeping it for a long time. I have all the kit you could get on a Stinger so in terms of confort there's nothing I am missing.

I think engine parts should be easily available. I'm more concerned about the prices of stuff like side mirrors or windscreen. They are already insanely expensive. 1200 eur/side mirror and 1400 eur for windscreen.

I bought out the lease on my GT1 three months after leasing it. the reason was that the car satisfied me entirely as-is and no intention of trade in or getting a newer one. I still feel that way and my car is five years "old" but looks and feels almost brand new. whenever I think of leasing and getting away from owning an aging car, the next drive in it convinces me that it won't happen.

After over 5 years of ownership im tempted to purchase a 4wheel drive. After moving regional in '21 the Stinger is finding hard to cope with NSW goat track roads.

It'll be at least 5-6 years for me and it's unlikely I'll hit 100,000km by then. We have the 7-year unlimited km warranty here in Australia.

I'm also spoilt by all the bells and whistles which makes the car an absolute bargain.

Also, after years of driving hot hatches, this sedan is top notch as far as comfort goes.

i usually keep cars for 4-6 years, gonna try for 6-8 with the Stinger. working from home, i should still be well under 75k even many years down the road ...

I am convinced the Stinger is pretty much bulletproof mechanically if not abused or neglected. Ours has 52K miles and is 3 years old. My wife and I both enjoy driving it and there is not much out there that seems substantially better. Electrics are tempting but our Stinger is our vacationing car and we do not want to deal with range anxiety and the lack of infrastructure at this time. We can afford a new car, but until the Stinger looks old fashion or tired, we still be sticking with it for another 3 years I would guess. Being garage kept in SoCal, and with me keeping it clean and shiney, it is still a head turner.

Ill have mine till the day it blows up, and if that happens before I hit 100K miles, then Ill have it till the day the replacement motor blows up.

Plan to keep it till 10year/100k minimum, just hit 40k so the full 10 years is looking likely. This car seems to be aging great without any typical specific-brand-year-quirksplosion.

That said, this will be my last ICE. Will be very interested to see what the GT performance electric market looks like in 2029 when it's already looking bright.

I'm almost at 5 years of ownership with my Canadian GT AWD 3.3 with about 30k miles. Car is just about paid off and in terrific shape. I'm playing with the idea of making it my hobby/ garage queen car and just buying a commuter. I'm in love with the car but I don't really like the idea of daily driving it year round. Its a tough decision because part of me just wants to cave and cash it in on trade for a big fast SUV but I think I'd really miss it.

IMO I would trade it in/sell it within this summer time. The prices are dropping for the stinger quote a bit. 43KCAD can be had for 2021 models now. Suv's on the other hand will always hold more value than a sedan, especially a performance one.

Nothing wrong with keeping it if you love it, that beats out everything.

I bought this car specifically b/c I want to keep it long term ... I L O V E driving it.
Ditto. I had my previous car for 14 years and ~105k miles. I'm hoping for the same out of my Stinger.

Over 5 years and no plans to sell anytime soon.

Assuming I'm still around and it doesn't get crunched, I plan to keep it at least as long as I'm working (10 more years). I bought it to keep.
