New Short Engine Block

yes, I was of course assuming stock when kia honors the 60,000 miles warranty on plugs and coil packs. if you get them to meet you halfway on this or at all I will be surprised. good fortune car hunting, since it sounds like your done with the stinger.
Be on the lookout for a part out lol

Yeah they do. I’ve joined one of the rc f groups on fb and they seem pretty reliable and offer some great performance as well. Even the older models 15 and 16 are good. I’m actually going to test drive one today lol
Awesome, have fun! I heard Lexus is the go to for reliability.

After reading this thread looks more and more, i am keeping my engine stock. Too many threads with after tune problems.
Yes, I agree about just keeping the engine stock. My Stinger is my daily driver and it has more than enough power for those duties. It should run 'forever' as a result, all else being equal.

Same for suspension - no lowering springs for me due to potential alignment issues.

I think the BIG takeaway from this thread is how perilous it can be buying a used Stinger. At the very least, the used car should have a compression and a leak-down test performed by an independent shop prior to buying to ensure pistons/rings/cylinders are doing their job and within spec.

OP, I'm very sorry to hear about all your problems, and hope your next purchase turns out to be flawless for you.

The RC Fs are cool cars, there's a few of them around me on the road. I think Lexus has the same 5.0 V8 in the IS500.
My next car will be the LC500, I think it's a gorgeous car which also has the NA 5.0. And bonus point - since it's a Lexus, it'll have Toyota reliability.

With having enough power, i think, it's about how you look at it. If you want it, you get used to what you have pretty quickly and it's never enough. I rode in my cousin's supercharged viper. And almost shited my pants, while he was talking about adding "little bit more". So when i want to feel fast, i drive my wife's acura rdx first. Thing goes nowhere compared to stinger.

Just got back after checking this used 15 rc f out. First time driving a v8 and man I’m mesmerized by the sound and power. It was smooth as butter. Once I get my car back I’m highly considering this baby and I would leave it stock. $40k with 49k miles on it.

Those lc 500s are gorgeous but steep on the price tag. The rc f Fuji’s are bad ass as well. I’m cool with the base model though.

Be better than me. After I got the Stinger, it was only stock for 4 months.

Bro you never lied about keeping the car stock. I remember when I first got on this forum and was telling ppl about my experience with the q50 red sport and how the trans locked up on me with the jb4. I wasn’t going to do it but did anyways granted this was a tune for the stinger but same concept. Both vehicles had their select problems. I’m not saying that the Lexus rc f or any car brand doesn’t have its pros and cons but I feel imo the stinger has alot once you start to try and add power. Anyways as stated I’ll take the hit in my pockets and be at peace and free finally lol

Lol. Nah man this raw v8 power is something else. I’m loving it. Think I’m sold on the rc f lol

Can't go wrong with the ISF v8, the sound and reliability are nice.

But performance is meh and aftermarket support

I’ll take some downside to the performance for reliability as this would be a daily. The rc f groups did suggest that if if I did want to do tuning the older models are the best to get 15 and 16

Luckily, the dealership I go to (also the dealership I bought the car) loves the car.

That price tag though

don't make comparisons. affordability is all that matters when you find the ride that hits all your soft spots.
And this ride hit a soft spot for sure.

Update: so the tech pulled #3 spark plug and it was defective and had a crack in the porcelain. They are replacing that plug and then giving it a go to see if things smooth out. I just don’t get it. They just replaced all plugs yet this still happened.

Did they replace the coils before they installed the plugs? If not, bad coils will just keep destroying plugs.

They did not since they only saw problems with cylinder 3. Need to double check with that

the sparkplug boot gets corroded and ruins any new plug in a matter of days. as the stinger's plug boots are included in the coil pack that is why the coil pack must replaced on any cylinder that cracks the plugs.
