The funny thing with these taps is that inserted one way, you have TWO fuses inline and your tap won't work unless both fuses are inserted, insert it the other way, and each fuse controls its own circuit (original circuit and your tap).
Sometimes you have no choice but to insertit one way, or it won't clear the box.

I inserted it with both fuses in an empty slot and it worked. I didn’t try it the turning it around. Either way i installed it I would have had to make a small notch for the wire. I removed both the VT provided switch and the 10A inline fuse to shorten up the excessively long red wire. Works perfectly now.

I can confirm that removing the built in fuse and the switch doesn't affect anything. I wired mine directly to the same wire I tapped for the CK71 fog lights. Was able to remove all that extra red wire. Lights actually work better and have had zero issues since removing the on/off switch.

Tapping that wire was my next option. I did remove the switch and inline fuse. Still used the fuse tap though into the engine fuse box. Works perfectly.
