I was going to post this earlier but I forgot. Earlier this month I emailed Sxth Element on information regarding the Rev6 piggyback (Rev6 ECU Piggyback Module) because I haven't seen much information on it, and would be curious in testing it out.

Sxth Element is located in Spartanburg SC and is only an hour away from where I live. Nathan over at Sxth Element told me that they're developing a new piggyback that'll be hitting the market in Q1 2023, if there's no delays. When that releases , I'll head over to their shop and Dyno before and after.

I want to hold off on an ECU tune until I can get a spare ECU.
why? No need for a spare ECU with the EK1 Lite and if you need to do warranty stuff you can just flash back to stock which leaves no traces on the ECU. Zero need for spare ECUs or TCU units for our cars now unless you just want a spare for shits and giggles.

I don't want to risk anything related to the ECU on my daily driver. It seems like a fantastic device though, while a lot cheaper than a LAP3 ECU tune, I'm not ready to eat $600 for the EK1Lite and $500 for a stage 2 ECU tune.

JB4 does a lot more than their piggyback, which they released a year or two ago?

Their latest offering is the at home flasher tool which looks really nice. We plan to release flash maps for use with the JB4 for customers who are looking to really push their performance to the max and not concerned with flashing.

Do you know if it's possible to tie a JB4 map with a drive mode? For example, could map 2 be activated but putting the car in sport mode?

We didn't like that method because you have to change mode every time you start the car, so instead we let you setup map switching based on the wiper switch which remains until you change it. And of course you can use the app to change maps at any time.

Hi Terry,
What does the JB4 map go to if you pull the stalk just to spray washer fluid? Does it stay in the set map, or go back to map0?
I guess the only downside is that it appears that if you use your wipers, then you are stuck in map0, which I suppose isn't a bad thing if in rain or snow.
However, what about the GT2 trim? It has "Auto" where the "Int" is on the stalk, does the map selection only work when in the "Off" position?

Map selection is based off the int setting not the wipers themselves. You can determine whether or not you want the JB4 to disable with wipers on as well.

Practically speaking, you normally run the correct map for the octane being used and don't change around a lot. You're only making more boost/power under heavy throttle anyway, so if driving slowly, all maps are the same as factory basically.

You can still brick an ecu. Better to have an inexpensive backup.
