This is a long shot as I haven't found anything on the web like this, but here goes nothing.

My infotainment console (2019 GT2) sporadically selects the "My Menu" button on it's own. Each time this happens, I have to click the home button to go back. There have been a few cases where it keeps opening the "My Menu" screen up to 10-15 times before I finally give up and just leave it there. This is a major distraction while driving and extremely annoying.

There is no consistency as to when this happens. It had not done this at all for the last few months, but then started again when the outside temperature got cold. It's now doing this about every other time I take the car out for a short trip. This has happened in warm weather as well, but not as often. It has also done this on both the pre & post April 2022 Navigation software update. I've taken it to the dealership and they said they couldn't reproduce the issue and there were no updates available at that time. At this point, I don't know what else to do other than just deal with it.

Here's a link to a video of one of the first few times it had done this. This video was before the April 2022 update. You can see the "My Menu" button in the bottom right corner illuminate as if someone is pressing the button before it changes to that screen. It does it twice in this video, but like I said, there are many times it will do that 10-15 times in a row.

Infotainment Issue - "My Menu" button being selected without touching the screen

Any insights are greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the button is registering phantom presses. Could be dust/dirt behind it conducting.

I'm unfamiliar with this button (don't think the '22 has it) You could try to blow it out with compressed air. Or it may need to be replaced.

I just dealt with a similar issue with my computer. Damn reset button was not in an open or closed state, but somewhere in between. Periodically PC would register a reset and reboot. The sh!t really hit the fan when the button continued to be stuck. It would not boot back up but be stuck, unable to POST.

It's not a physical button, its the button on the screen. Ive heard about ghost touches on these displays before. Its not uncommon for a digitizer to go to shit with any touch screen device. Dealer should replace infotainment based on your video alone.

This is good to know! Since it’s doing it more often now, I’m going to get a few more videos and then call the dealer again. I won’t let them off the hook so easily next time.

I showed them my original video when they responded the way they did. My local dealer is not very easy to work with. It literally took over a year and about 20 phone calls to get the roof trim pieces replaced due to fading and cracking. The work itself was great, but getting it approved under warranty and getting the car scheduled for the replacement was hell.

I have the exact same issue man, check one of my recent post about the infotainment screen update (2018-2021 stinger entertainment screen update) do the update it seemed to help mine alot ive only had it happen once since and it went back and forth once and then stopped.. it used to be really bad

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I also had a lot of phantom navigation and my menu selections. I found that removing the nav Mem card is super simple to reset the system and it only takes a few seconds to get back to normal once card reinserted. Since I updated its very rare.

So I noticed I was running version 129 (Apr 11, 2022) and since then they have a newer version (Oct 6, 2022). I did upgrade to the latest version but still have the exact same problem. It's almost impossible to get additional footage on video without a passenger. Holding my phone steady & recording the infotainment while driving is no fun at all not to mention unsafe.

I think I'm going to call the dealership, but I'm worried they're not going to warranty the infotainment as I just noticed there is a separate warranty area for Audio/Entertainment that expired July 2022. I do, however, have a previous work order from them opened in February 2022 where I stated my complaint about this. Their notes just say that they "couldn't duplicate the concern."

This should be the same thing as updating the infotainment software version as well, correct? I'm removing the factory SD card to copy the newest version during that time.

I'm having the same issue, is there a fix?

I wish I knew one, I have the exact same issue.

It happens in a variety of weather and I have tried updating the system several times. I also tried power cycling the car by unplugging the battery. Nothing has helped.

I am experiencing the same issue with my 2019 GT1, which has persisted for almost 2yrs. Despite multiple visits to the dealership and the initiation of a case with Kia, a few months ago, the infotainment screen was replaced under goodwill warranty, as it exceeded the 3-year/12,000-mile limit. Unfortunately, this replacement did not resolve the issue. It's possible that the problem lies with the wiring connected to the infotainment system.

The issue occurs both with and without Android Auto (AA). Even after disconnecting my phone Bluetooth, the problem persists, although it occurs less frequently when my phone is not connected via AA. I typically use the Motorola MA1 wireless adapter, but the problem persists even when my phone is connected via USB.

The issue itself is that the right bottom corner of the screen gets activated as if it was being touched. Since "My Menu" button on the screen is not displayed while the phone is connected via AA, instead, the bottom right corner of the screen is the "notification" button which gets activated without touching.

I have several videos demonstrating the issue: photos.app.goo.gl/5snaMivmTeq5YwLH7

If anyone has any updates or solutions to this issue, please share them. It has become extremely frustrating during daily driving.

Bringing this thread back alive. I have the same issue with ghost touches on my 2018 GT Limited (GT2). Any solutions?
