Hey everyone. I've tried bleeding air from the system, tried a different outlet, and my Karcher 1700 still will not turn on.
Here's a bit of info that I'm hoping some more experienced/knowledgeable individuals will be able to help out with.
When the unit is plugged in, and I press the reset button on the plug, it will turn on for half a second and then die again. I'm not sure what this could mean but any and all help is appreciated! Hopefully I wont need to buy a whole new unit.
Thanks in advance

When first plugged in and reset pushed, the unit starts for a second.
If the unit is full of water already, you will not hear it running until you start to use the unit by pressing the trigger.
And also there is the start peddle bottom front.

Just in case this might be the issue.

Usually when I turn it on, it runs for a second and stops to build pressure like normal. But now its just not turning on at all, except for when I press the reset button on the plug and then it wont run at all.

I don't have one, nor do I have an electric pressure washer...yet. But from a quick search it looks like one of the issues could be it could have some air in the system. Basically the below youtube video, guy had a similar issue it seems. Turned off the power and water, disconnected the spray wand, turned the water on and allowed water to flow through it for while until the sputtering slowed. Turned off the water, re-attached the wand and turned the water and power back on again and it fixed it.

I have the same Karcher pressure washer. Mine stopped working not long ago too. Not sure if this is your issue, but my reset button stopped working on the GFI plug. The light was still green though on the plug which was a little confusing to me - thinking it was still good. It turned out to be the GFI plug on the pressure washer itself.
This is the one I bought, replaced it and it fixed the issue.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

When I press teh reset button I still hear the little *click* noise. That means mine is still working, right? I hopped on a call with Karcher support this morning and walked through some trouble shooting. Seems like I may need to send it in

Thanks for linking this, I've already tried with no luck :/ Every time I leave the power switch on, and then press the reset button on the gfci plug it will turn on for like half a second and then not work again. That's what is stumping me

Hmmm it does almost sound like what @777David was saying about a bad GFCI plug. Especially if it works briefly while pressing the reset button. Either that or there's an electrical fault within the machine somewhere.

If it works the same way a GFCI outlet works, the Reset button should stay in until either A) a short or something causes the GFCI circuit to trip, or if you hit the test button. Although checking their site, it looks like they have a couple of different types of GFCI plugs each behaving a different way.

It seems like something electrical for sure. Luckily the device is still under warranty so they're going to replace it!
Thanks for your help
