When going on trips and parking the car at the Airport. After a few days, the car goes into a deep sleep mode. Therefore I can't use Kia connect to start my car.

Anyone know a work around for this?

which car (year)
which country?

I cant recall where I read it.... but for sure there is a note in one of the Canadian Kia UVO (now Kia connect), where it says something to the effect of:

remote start services are only available if the vehicle has been started recently (7 to 14 days depending on model - might have been 48 hours to 1 week)).

Many many months ago when there was a pandemic, I was working from home in the winter - and had this message when trying to remote start my car after is had not been started for about a week.

I was able to lock and unlock the doors by the app, so your assumption about deep sleep is incorrect. Communication is possible, but remote starting is restricted - it is stupid, and I can not understand why. No way around it as far as I know.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Get a buddy to drive to the airport and pull a door handle?
Slide 10 canadabucks to a parking attendant and ask them to yank the handle every couple of days?

The car really can kill the battery. I had the ECU out for 3 weeks for tuning, and that was enough to pull the battery all the way down to 4v. So I wouldn't recommend keeping the computers alive.

I am not knowledgeable about this issue, but are you unable to start via the key fob or key? Don

?

Keeping it alive with a trickle charger? is that what you mean?

That is not what is being described...

After X hours (maybe 72), you can not start the vehicle VIA the Kia connect app. Everything else works normally.

If you can still start the car with the key fob, then, in my opinion, this is not a major issue. Don

Super annoying that remote start doesn't work when you want it most...

And, I can't make any sense of why they would program it this way.

Unless the engine was started in the last 72 hours, the remote start via Kia connect will not operate.

it looks like it's supposed to be 7 days... but i wonder if there is logic so if it senses the battery voltage is below a threshold(like the auto start stop stuff) that it shuts uvo link (kiaconnect) off early to preserve battery.. I don't know/can't test since i have the older model without link :( 1664198495793.webp

Maybe the ~72 hours - is actually 168 hours....

I feel like last year there was never a 168 hour period where I did not drive my car...which is why I thought it was 72 hours... Annoying even if it is 7 days.

My old Nokia Phones would last 30 days standby with a tiny pocket sized battery. The power required for standby cellular really should be miniscule.

uvo Canada says 4 days

For Engine Start to work successfully, please ensure that all four doors of your car are locked, security system armed, gearshift lever in Park (P) position, it has been less than 4 days since last vehicle ignition off and the vehicle is located in an open area with good cell reception.
