Ticking/tapping sound under low acceleration

I noticed its at its worse when you ascend a steep driveway at very low speed.

I would love to hear this mystery noise.

For some reason this platform won't let me send videos and i don't know how to reduce it. May give it another crack when this monsoon dies down in a day or two.

Sounds like a brake dust shield, but I would expect it to change tone with speed, or vibration

This has been bugging me recently too. I'm fairly certain it has always been there.

I'm getting my drivetrain fluids all changed this weekend and I'll see if it makes a difference. The car is approaching 5 years old now so
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the rubber parts were starting to wear out.

The car sounds like a clunker. It's embarrassing lol.

Sounds to me like it's a loose heat shield rattling against something.
Sent the video to Kia they're going to look at it and do the job they should have done two weeks ago. Can't get to Sydney for 3 weeks so all will be revealed later. I'll post the findings.

Jack the car up, get under it, and start banging on the shields and stuff to see if you can find a loose one.

The noise is activated by small amounts pressure on the accelerator at low speeds, once you get over 40kph it stops. I don't think its anything loose.

So get this. Kia has determined that the issue is in the front differential. Replacement cost $4500CAD. Good thing it happened now, as my warranty is ending in January!!

It may make sense to move this thread to @drivetrain. Does anyone know how to do this?

Bit of an update. After the front dif replacement the sound has apparently moved down the drivetrain. Not exactly sure as I've not driven it. Dealership is consulting with Kia engineering.
