Stinger wheel and tire sizes

No. You cannot put a tire designed for a 8.5 inch wheel on an 8 inch wheel or vice-versa.
Also on the AWD version you need to make sure the diameter of the all 4 wheels is the exact same or you will jack up the transmission. (And wear the tires really bad)

No you do not, and no they don't always come with staggered rims.(the all season package with 18 inch wheels are not staggered) All you have to do is find a wheel that fits over the brakes, has the right lug pattern, and clears the car when rubber is on it. However going to far outside what it came with may make a pretty big difference in how the car handles..

The AWD version normally comes with 19" and is staggered. The option is to get the 18" with all seasons on it instead of Summer tires that come with the stock 19" staggered wheels. The staggered fronts are 8 and the rears are 8.5 but have wider tires than the all seasons. 40's in the front and 35's in the rear. the all seasons are 45.
There is a little give and take on tires. They usually tell you the recommended size and tell you it can go a half size up or down. When you bring up the 255/35R18 they say either 8.5 or 9.0 depending on the manufacturer. And the 225/40R18 they say 8.0

Which version of the Stinger do you plan on getting? 19" comes staggered. 18" is not staggered. They designed the car to run on a staggered pattern for more rubber on the road. I plan on running staggered only on the track the rest of the time I plan on running all season tires (non-staggered)

Rotation of the tires is different on a staggered tire package. You only rotate the two fronts with each other the the 2 rears with each other.

Planning to go with 18X9J all four corners with 245 front and 265 rear for rubbers, if that would work. Pending offset clearance of course, should be ok as the 2.0L Turbos here come with 18” wheels and no Brembos.

I am thinking on seeing if they can give me the 18 in all season tires from one of the awd ones and putting my 19’s on the awd. I really don’t want staggered tires. They will not wear the same and I would be putting on a/s tires on anyway. The pilot sport 4 tires do not wear very long from what I can tell.

You are probably right they are only rated for 20k miles compared to 50k for an average all season tires. I've seen a lot of people complain that the pilot sport tires are lucky to give 15k.
I really doubt they will be able to swap tires though.

Well when you order the awd with 18’s for those there’s no extra fee and a lot of aw drive vehicles have the 19s on already. They could just swap them and they only have to change the spec sheet on the car. My Optima 2012 they did it for me. Doesn’t hurt to ask or I may be forced to buy they all will drive.

You are right though, never hurts to ask.

There are only a small percentage of those shipped that come with the 18" wheel option. When my dealer checked those that have been shipped already roughly 3000, only 3-4% came in the 18" wheel configuration and all of those were Red. They'll gradually come in with all the colors. I'm waiting for either Silky Silver or Ceramic Silver for mine.

2 dealers are getting in Ceramic this week. I ask both dealers about switching tires or ordering some to swap. Both will get back to me.

It would be great to hear what options are available for swapping wheels/tires between US models. So far this is the only car I have seen listed with variation on the configurations available on Kia's online build. If dealers are able to mix and match that would be great news- If the US ever gets the GT body style with an optional 2.0T that would be icing on the cake, but these wheels would be a good start.

I just put 22” on mine. Rides fine but the tire is a lil small for my liking going to 20 for every day driving maybe keep 22 for show. 22x8.5 35et 225/30/22 for those that looking for spec

I don't often go for big wheels, but that works well!

I know the tires on the 19" front wheels looks stretched, are the rims actually the same size as the back? If no rubbing, that could be a nice setup for that car to square the look.

Looks super clean dude! This is my first time seeing 22s on the stinger lol. But those rubber band tires look like trouble man, be careful!
