Does Anyone know what the green "Mercedes Benz type" symbol means that pops up on the dash and HUD? It goes on and off as I am driving. I tried to capture a pic here, but it is fuzzy. It is the symbol to the upper left of the left lane departure marking. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I believe that is a steering wheel icon indicating that lane keep assist is active.

Have you looked in your owners manual? The online version does not show anything in that position, although the cruise setting speed indicator is shown above the smart cruise/lane keep graphics.

It indicates that the active lane control is on. Meaning that it will nudge your steering if required. It’s a steering wheel icon.

The LKA function works nicely on straight highways, not so well on curves or where the lines diverge like on exit ramps. The green light kicks off when the steering assist is not active.

Or, it means some guy in a Mercedes is creeping up on you

I like and hate that feature :) I'll signal when there's cars around me, but if I'm alone, I'll just make the lane change. I then have to fight the steering wheel and force the lane change, hehe.

Lol. Is this the active assist?
Yes, and it goes on and off since it doesn't always know where the lane is going. Lane Departure Warning can work with just knowing where the lane lines are, but the LKA needs to know where the Lane is going to turn after 50-100ft or so, so if you're going over a hill or the vision is obstructed somehow, it won't turn on LKA and just give you basic Lane Departure Warnings.

Also, don't take pictures while you're driving, especially at night. :P

Yes I turn mine off when driving in the city. I’d prefer to be able to activate the lane warning and lane Assistance separately.

On US cars you can. Lane Departure is the button on the dash, Lane Keeping Assist is a setting in the cluster.

Yes but I mean controlling it on the fly. Eg driving in the city with the assist off then transitioning to highway with it on.
