Funny license plates.

Funny or clever plates. Anybody seen any?

I saw 2 yesterday which made me chuckle.

On the back of an AMG CLA45 - “AMGOMG”

And on the back of a Toyota Hilux - “HIRUX’

I guess the Hilux could potentially offend some people but I thought it was funny. Bit surprised they let it through TBH.

Anybody else seen any funny plates?
Years ago a coworker had the plate changed on his Vette convertible to “SHELOST” after his divorce decree was finalized. I’m guessing she got the short end of the stick

^^^Eight characters??
I posted from memory, it's possible the A wasn't there.

In any case, it was good for a chuckle. AND seeing another Stinger on the road. I would assume they're tuned to feel the plate could be consistently justified.

This plate demonstrates that the ability to Innov8 is important when coming up with a creative license plate and also represents the Stinger's Innov8- ive design.

Or folks can be advised that a Stinger is quick even though it has Nno V8.

Which way do you all read this one?

I wondered, and yes, CA now allows 9 characters on vanity plates. But I do wonder why they allowed these 9 characters. Maybe the name of a business? There is a gun shop called that in a town about 13 miles north of here.

A friend emailed me last week that when she picking up an Rx at a Kaiser pharmacy out in the Corona/Riverside area she saw a HCR Stinger with "gorgeous rims" and the black CA plate "RSTINGER" parked not far from her car. Anyone here?

She was going to take a shot of it to send me, but just then—and how typical!—someone who didn't know how to park driving a huge SUV pulled into the slot adjacent to the Stinger, and jockeyed back and forth several times trying to park straight, blocking her shot. She didn't want them to think she was targeting them, so she put away her phone without getting the shot. She always parks her elderly-but-pristine Infiniti way out in the back-of-beyond where no one else is parked to avoid dings, so that SUV driver probably had to go out of its way to find a gorgeous car to snuggle up to and annoy.

I just checked the CA DMV site and the personalized plate application only allows 7 characters.

I suppose it's possible the owner has a 7 digit plate and somehow added the G and the R on either end. But that would definitely be a vehicle code violation.

Odd, I can't find the site that said it was now 9 for personalized plates, so you're undoubtedly right. I didn't look at the back plate to see if they matched, but we have to have valid plates back and front in any case. Not that all people follow the law . . .
