Wowwww. Funny you say that. Turner kia in Harrisburg PA had a scorpion Ed stolen from their lot and recovered. They also said they are fixing it. They had the balls to sell 5k over MSRP. I said no thanks .

True. I’ve checked for a GT2 scorpion edition right now from Maine to florida ! NOTHING. I had my chance while I was in florida in February. I walked out of the dealership because I didn’t want to pay 10k over MSRP. ‍

I’m from Buffalo NY. I even went as far as Ohio . And nothing !

Good for you. That's not a reasonable or, IMO, a justifiable markup. The reason being the Scorpion offers no upgrade in engine or power over the entry level TT V6. Buying the low production run performance vehicle like a Dodge Charger Hellcat, a Ford GT500 in one of it's versions, or the Camaro ZL1 generally comes with a stiff dealer markup. At least you are getting serious upgrades over their non-supercharged performance versions like the SRT, GT, and SS models.
The Scorpion package gives you rims and a spoiler.

The only thing they have to justify the market adj is that only 250 of the scorpion edition's have been made and shipped to the USA. That is a real limited edition. Now let's see if they come out with one for 2023 and producing 2000 of them.

I hear you on that. I think I got mine in early Feb here in CA. Paid roughly 3k under sticker let alone the markup. This dealer sell over 800 cars each month and seems to get a nice allotment of the hard to get vehicles.

Can't say too much about the Scorpion Edition Stinger and how hard it is to find, but it took me a while to find my 22 Stinger GT1. I live in a southern state, and I drove up and down state line, east to west state line, and found only ONE stinger 3.3L V6 TT, at a DODGE dealership! Every kia dealership I went to (didn't go to all of them but 9 Kia dealerships and called a few more), and they were always sold out of the V6's. I was getting desperate and on a binge of reading these forums and watching youtube videos, so I started looking at other dealerships either outside of the state or random dealerships that carried the car. I found my dream Stinger at a Dodge dealership about 1.5 hours from where I live. 4,000 miles on it the dealership had purchased from another Kia dealership and marked it up. About $6,500 above it's actual price. I traded in my Nissan (which I got an amazing deal on), and wiped out the mark up with the trade-in. Out the door I went with my new Stinger GT1 AWD. Best purchase I have ever made in my life solely on the fact that 1) I can afford it since I got a good interest rate and trade in, and 2) it just makes me happy walking up to it and driving off in it. Especially after a long day of work, just walking up to it makes everything better about mood and my drive home. Worth every penny!

That's funny.. I bought my '19 last week from a Dodge dealership. Lucky enough to find a GT2 AWD with 31k on it. I do work for that dealer at my job. I walked in, they removed the markup and cut all the fees in half and I walked out for 4 grand less than the sticker said on it. Not a bad deal since all the dealers seem to be sticking to the price right now.

The latest info is Stinger production is done after this quarter and K5 is going bye bye soon. Sales numbers are dropping consistently with all manufacturers for any "sedan" (non-SUV/Crossover, truck or EV).

Don’t believe everything you read. Most of the people that write online car articles don’t do a ton of research. I called a dealership earlier this week and they were just informed that ordering for Stingers would be for the 2023 models. Additionally, they are only able to order GT-Line and GT2 trims. The GT1 trim is most likely discontinued. Additionally, a new GT2 Grand Tourer Special Edition Package will be offered.
Sounds like 2023 will be the last model year for the Stinger

Yea, I've seen the reports. The confusion in my post was from you first saying not to believe what's been written only to later say you think the Stinger is soon to be discontinued.

You're contradicting yourself every time you post.

Keep in mind that none of the reports say 2022 will be the Stinger's last model year. They say the end of this quarter will be the end of production (that's June 30th). The cars currently being built will obviously be sold as 2023 MY vehicles. By the time these cars make it to NA we'll be in August/September. So I found it perplexing that you were agreeing with the reports you don't agree with. You're literally making the same claim they are.

Of course. Kia's website still shows 22 as the current MY. They'll probably still be new 22s on the lot in 2024. Doug Demuro bought a brand new 2018 GT2 in 2020. Hell, I periodically see reports of people buying brand new vehicles that have been out of production for a decade.

Look at it this way, the current Stingers that are being built are certainly MY 2023 (assuming those Monroney stickers are real). These cars will reportedly be built until June 30th. Those builds will take a few weeks to sail to California. Sit off the coast/at the port for a few weeks. Sit at Kia's distribution hub for few weeks. And finally start heading to dealers late August to mid-September.

So these reports saying production will end June 30th aren't contradicting dealers who say 2023 MY vehicles will eventually be en route.

I recall this happening with a few other MYs. They sometimes arrive late summer, giving us all plenty of time to speculate on their apparent demise. Then BOOM, July/August comes and Kia announces a new model year, which interestingly usually happens AFTER dealers have already began selling them. Kia's gonna Kia.

There's a dealer near me that has three 2023 GT2 AWD listed on their website. HC Red, Ascot Green, and Panthera. Haven't bothered driving there to look at them to verify they were 2023 though.
