Hi, Im new to this forum and new to cars. 2019 Kia Stinger GT.
Ive been wondering, is it safe to put aftermarket BOV (just for the sound) on a stock engine and stock everything. im not planning to tune the car or whatsover, just really for the sounds. What are the pros and cons? will it damage my car in a long run? void warranty? Just wanted to make sure it wont damage it but if it does or its not a good idea, i wont do it.
Thank you in advance for those people who reply and help. Godbless!

You’ll be fine. I’d rather get an intake though. You’ll also hear your stock bov.

So get an intake instead and i wont damage my car in a long run or issues will occur when i put intake?
What intake would you recommend tho? Thanks!

AEM or BMS. Good sound and looks.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Replacing your stock intakes with and high end intake system such as BMS , K&N ,AEM will give you a more noticeable intake and turbo spool up noise. It will not void your warranty unless they (Kia) can prove that the intake caused the damage. By replacing your BOV valves ( there are two) with quality aftermartket one such as GFB or any other direct fit parts would give your car the distinctive pshh or turbo sound on hard shifts. What you could do first is just remove the two hoses that come from the stock BOV and rout into the stock airbox and then cap off the ports on the airboxes. Effectively making your stock BOV a vent to atmosphere BOV.
But for all that its worth aftermarket BOV are pretty cheap compared to other things that we put into our cars.

Pros: You get the cool sound
Cons: it does nothing for performance and costs you money to buy them.

Yep, removed stock intake (and associated silencing) on my WRX and installed short ram, PSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHH all day long with stock BOV. OEM intakes have a ton of silencing integrated into them.

Most turbo cars come with recirc valves though now instead of BOVs.

Is there a advantage to reciculate rather than venting to atmosphere?

theoretically recirc should help with turbo response as it's dumping the pressurized air right into the front of the turbo inlet, sort of giving you a pre charge.

Thanks, I was wondering the same.
