HEADLIGHTS FOGGING UP / CRACK ROOF PAINT.

Hi. Im new to this forum. I made this account because i needed help.
I went to my kia delearship because of my headlights fogging up inside and turning to a droplets, also my roof line paint cracking. I took there and they blame it on the previous owner of the car. They said the bumper was removed at some point thats why they cant cover it and my warranty doesnt cover the paint cracking because it was only 12months or 12k miles. Im the 5th owner but with only 25k miles. I have 2019 kia stinger gt. Idk what to do… should i call kia vip? Still under warranty of until next yr.. but once they found out i was under warranty they kept telling me excuses when i was there… i had 4 issues and this what they said ;

Im not sure why I haven't gotten anything yet but I just looked at the ro and for the first thing its says he set the tire pressure to the correct psi (36) and the tire light went away there was also no codes found for the tire sensor so that is now good to go. As for the lights they past the test we have to do and went away after about 30 mins of running time. It looks like the bumper has been removed at some time so that might be an issue and wouldnt be covered at this time. The cable you mentioned we found the hood latch cable is damaged and someone has messed with it so that would also not be covered at this time and would be customer pay to replaced the latch.
So unfortunately I was correct on that and those parts are only covered for 12 months and 12k miles. I was told by the tech the wire is still working but its just to open the hood.

They said they tested it out for 30mins but when i checked my car again it was still there. Im sorry if its long story idk what else.. beside calling kia VIP but idk what to say.

5th owner…who knows what happened to that car previously. Can understand Kia's hesitancy in covering issues.

Fogging headlights happens depending on humidity and temperature factors: at least several forum members have complained about that, but it comes and goes. (Fifth owner, that has to be some kind of record for a car only two to three years old with that low mileage.) If you are describing the drip rails that run back along both edges of the roof, those are a paint warranty and that is up to 36K miles or 36 months for the original owner: but how much reduced for subsequent owners, I don't know: probably as you were told, a year or 12K miles, and so a non starter. The hood latch sounds like it is questionable owner-caused damage. And the Kia dealer you are dealing with, by your description, sounds like not a very good/helpful one. Maybe try another.

Yes, like 2 months ago. The first owner have it for lease and the other 4 use it for only 2-3 months each. Thats why it has low mileage.

Thank you for reply. Next kia delearship is 45mins away -.- i dont wanna drive all the way and get the same result.. I also asked other stinger owner if they get headlights fogging and they said no. They are all different states and different temps but i got one of those headlights issue.

Carfax also shows no sign of other issues or complain or issues fix from previous owners just regular maintenance, oil change etc..

I guess ill just put a carbon fiber overlay on it to cover it up. Haha

I really hope you get all your issues fixed though. If the history is clean as you say, shouldnt be too big of a trouble. Call around more dealers maybe?
Also for the roof liner cracking, you can always get that wrapped (vinyl black etc) Looks better imo.

As merlin said, the drip rail paint issue is common. As is the fogging headlight issue. I have both. My 2019 GT is garage kept. I'm the only owner. Still have those issues. The fog goes away on its own at least.

headlight fogging is pretty normal, especially after a rain/wash + temperature change.. mine has only fogged up twice in 2 years right after a wash in the morning followed by parking in the sun for a few hours. However it shouldn't ever get to the point where it's constant and dripping inside. Headlight lenses are just glued on generally so it is pretty common (especially in the german world) for there to be a leak somewhere. The f10 5 series was known to be terrible for that, few of my coworkers have/had that gen 528, 535, and m5 , and believe it or not, every single one of those had at least one headlight that would be fogged up constantly, one of them so bad that water would pool in the bottom and fry the computer that was conveniently at the bottom of the headlight assembly costing over 3k$ to replace..

If it's pooling/dripping a lot, you unfortunately may have gotten a bad one or there was a hidden impact at somepoint causing a hairline crack somewhere.

Not before removing the "snake skin finish" first. CF overlay would look pretty good, actually, if you have other CF accents, like mirror cups.

fogging here too. it's minimal and always goes away after a little time. never water pooling up though. Heck, even completely sealed wrist watches have some humidity inside the case. put an ice cube on the top and the humidity clings to the inside of the crystal. it's not really an issue unless you have standing water pooling up in the light casing.
