I just installed the bms intakes and am worried about rain! i live in indiana were it snows and or rains alot, is this something i have to worry about with the stinger, ive never really noticed any water in the engine bay after driving it in the rain before but figured id see how it was from other people with intakes!

Good question. All I can say is that some systems have had issues with that and of course, if the engine ingests water, it can be catastrophic.

I wouldn't want to worry if I hit some standing water that it was deeper than thought and there goes the engine. Don

The BMS intakes aren't really a cold air intake they're a short ram intake so water isn't splashing on the filters directly most of the time. If you're still concerned you can buy filter wears to cover your filters here FILTERWEARS Pre-Filters | Protective Air Filter Wraps

I bought them because I run bms intakes too and noticed that during the winter months the filters would get water on them from drive through high pressure car washes.

I think you'll be fine, unless you submerge the front of your car you're not going to get enough water coming through the front of the car and being sucked through the intakes. But if you're concerned then do as NS_Stinger suggested.

I have stock air boxes with JA scoops on, and have driven in rain and snow with no problem. You would have to drive through a squall line to get enough rain to be worrisome, IMO.

+1 on filterwears. I have them on my BMS intakes.

Like other have stated you should be fine. Unless you park outside for a couple days during a storm with the hood open.

I know this thread is a little old but doing my research. I am installing Injen CAI next Thursday with front snorkel . I live in San Diego, we dont get a lot of rain but when we do it pours. My main concern like you said is drive through car washes. Due to the snorkels do I need to worry about the water being sucked through those snorkels into the filter hence into the motor ? Its my main source to clean my car.
Thanks for any help.
