Hello,
Looking to change my rear pads right now, and maybe rotors, if need it ? Will measure and check that.
I haven't had any issues with my Bembro brakes so far, like some have, but oem pads are stupid priced here in Canada at $300, of which I believe I can get lower price from dealer, as they've suggest lower price on plugs than list price, but still pricey.

Question is, the bembro oem dust issue aside for a moment, what pads out there have you found to at least as Good for strong braking as our oem Brembo's have ?
I will be comparing and want pads that are on the lower dust side and on quiet side as well, with less fade.
So which ones have you tried that are as good or better for Braking power/strength with avr. to minimal fading/dust/lower noise ?? for less price than oem Bembro's ?

I'm considering the EBC Yellow pads.
I'm iffy on the Hawk, as I've seen mixed reviews on them ?
Powerstop Evolution or warrior ?
Stoptech Centri posiquiet ?
I've seen good reviews on Bosch Quietcast premium pads, but are they great passenger car pads or do they actually hold up strong for our Stingers ?

Are are Brembo pads, the dusting causing some issues for some here aside, really better than pads that cause 50-65% of other brands
I do 1/4 mile runs as many of you have seen my videos, but I still don't want TRACK pads, as I still want quiet daily pads that will not ruin the rotors fast.

Re: Rotors, I believe this is easier choice. Any good brand will be fine, and vented only. I've seen reviews how the drilled holes are just cool looking but do not actually help performance and have more negative features overall. Maybe one with a few slot slits in them is fine.

My brakes haven't started to squeak yet, but I just swapped out to winters and noticed how low they are and want to order them soon to be ready to swap out.

Oh, any videos you've found with great test review, please share, as I like to make decisions with lots of evidence/proof of their performance.

PS, are our pads ceramic or semi-metalic ? Anyone know exact model of pads from Bembro, are ? Bembro website sucks as with no real info on the actual products.

Aftermarket brakes, or brake pads?

Pads... but may need Rotors, so open to options links for those too

I recently swapped pads. The pins that came with the pads aren't 100% snug, so I get a slight clunk the first time going into reverse and/or forward. Otherwise, super awesome upgrade and my rotors are fine despite the very minor vibrations I was starting to experience under harder braking.

My post with details on pads

I have EBC yellow stuff all around and their two piece rotors up front with Cquence out back. No noise at all, but more dust, the trade off is the pads don’t where down the rotor surface and considering how expensive they are a quick rinse is ok.

o.k. do you believe they brake the Stinger as good as oem bembro's did ? or better or wee bit less ? Dust is odd, they rate their yellow pads as Low Dust.
So far I'm leaning towards these. Not sure on hawk or Stoptech or Powerstop ?

I have hawk hps 5.0 front pads and powerstop z16 rear pads with cquence drilled/slotted rotors. The hawks squeal badly when coming to a slow stop and the powerstops squeak in reverse. Not too happy with either in the noise department…performance is smooth though. I took all the pads out on Monday and cleaned them/sanded them/ greased the backs then went out and rebedded them. Still making noise this morning when I go to my garage at work.
They also clunk when going from reverse to drive, not sure if fronts or rear.

the clunk is suppose to be related to a pin that's not tight enough fit ? did you use oem pin or pin that came with them ?
hps 5.0, they rate themselves as being on the quiet side, I guess not.

Anyone have experience with any of these 4-5 main aftermarket brands ?

None of the pads come with hardware, reuse oem pins. The clunking comes from the pad shifting (poor fitment). Yea from what I’ve now read hawks tend to be noisy no matter which series it is.

The stopping power was immediately noticeable and got increasingly better over 100s of miles.

I think for an EBC pad they are low dust, but much more than OEM. I can see it collect on any dew that’s on the side of the car and the leading edge of the rear door. It rinses right off though, even off the wheels. Just can’t let it fossilize for weeks and months.

Any of those pads are good. I’ve been using EBC on all my vehicles since the 90s and customer service is decent. They even have a presence on the forum.

Might be buying EBC red stuff to replace my noisy hawk front pads, good to hear even the yellows are quiet as they are more aggressive than the reds.

I'm leaning towards the yellow, though the red have longer wear life, lower dust rating (as per ebc specs), the yellow do have better brake fade, better/stronger braking, better cold bite ratings, and same in the low noise rating... if driving aggressively at all, as I do my 1/4 dragging, I'm going with the Yellow, if I go with EBC.. still researching
R1 Concept look interesting as well.
Re. Rotors, I am NOT getting drilled rotors. They look cool and claim to reduce heat and all, but they do not brake as strong as plain or ones with few slots in them.
They have many negatives, as per Engineering explained video.

I got the drilled and slotted for the looks mostly lol. I don’t drive hard enough to warrant the yellow pads, would rather just have quiet less dusty pads.

So you get this clunk as well. For me, I would say it is a tad bit more consistent on mines. If I am going downhill or coming out my driveway I get that sound. I have the Girodisc front pads with the stock rotors. It is making me think that maybe pads are too strong for the stock rotors. I am considering in the future replacing my stock rotors anyway with slotted, so maybe I will do that sooner rather than later.

It sounds like you have 'other' issues going on, mine are simply moving a tiny bit due to tolerance between stock holes and the aftermarket pins. I believe my installer said he used the OE pins on the back, the Powerstop pins for the fronts. It's the fronts that seem to shift when my vehicle changes direction (forward/reverse). But once in motion in either direction there is zero noise until I go into forward/reverse. I researched a bit online to confirm this is a widespread issue with OE pads replacements on many different brake setups. If it happens while driving and normal braking it's a bigger fitment issue, from what I've read (the pads aren't sitting level in place).

I did bring it up to my main mechanic and said that the brakes are fine and that pads may be too strong for the OEM rotors. Who knows! But like I said planned on replacing them and then see what happens. I was initially going to just keep the Girodisc pads on there but I may switch those out as well.

Hawk HPS 5.0 here, on the front only, stock pads on the rear. The hawks do make some noise when they are cold under really light braking, like just when reversing out of the driveway and stuff. seems to go away when hot. it's not enough noise to bother me. I used them on the track and they held up well, everything is still nice and smooth, but I was careful to cruise around after a track session to cool the rotors down a bit, not just park it right away. After more research though, I will be getting some more aggressive pads just for the track and keeping the current setup for daily drive. Definitely better not to have drilled rotors for track use. I'm sure they are fine for daily drive, they are more for show than anything else. Good blanks with track pads are the way to go. I wouldn't hesitate to try Redstuff pads all around for daily drive. I have them on my GTI and they have been great. More dust but no issues otherwise.

Anyone know how thick is the limit on our rotors ? Just read there's a stamp on the edge of the disc ? If I measured mine right, my rear are .9" or 23mm.
