how does gt2 go into paddle shifter mode? on gt1 you just kick over the shifter to the left. its weird, ive accidentally knocked it over to manual a few times. weird design or something.
Haha I have a base awd gt. Couldn't really afford gt1 or gt2 cuz I had to stay under 40k when I got mine cuz we just purchased a house. Could've afforded either but I told her I'd stay within the price range. Old house needs windows, floors etc.
I really wanted a sunroof. The smart trunk woulda been nice as well. After owning the base awd for 9000 miles I think the better stereo would be nice to have as well. Also, the gt1/gt2 has a power tilt steering wheel, which as a large man gives you more leg room When getting out the car. That would also be nice. When I test drove cars, I only drove the gt1. I absolutely hated the screen in the base car. I ended up swapping in nav and the the screen out of the gt1/gt2. Cost me about 500 total. I'd say get the car that you want and can afford. Much easier to have the stuff already then to upgrade. But hey, I feel I at the very least bought a brand new Stinger, which is something I couldn't do with a Pontiac G8/Chevy SS cuz they weren't being made anymore.

First part is my story, had a price point and the 2021 GT fit perfectly. Now that entry 3.3TT price is higher, I probably wouldn't have bought it at $43+k.
Second bolded section is general car buying TRUTH. The reason the GT worked for me was my motives for buying the car -- wanted the drivetrain. Everything else was/is a distant second in terms of wants and needs. Had my desires been "moonroof and better stereo", then I'd have gone into the buying experience from a different angle (likely going with something else or paying down my prior car loan instead/waited). Fwiw, the stock 9 speaker stereo is okay with some speaker upgrades. I detailed my journey doing swaps in another thread. Finally found a good combo of replacements that didn't break the bank and I was able to keep the OE head unit and amp.

I should look into your stereo upgrades. Call me an audiophile if you want but I like to listen to my stuff loud. The stock 9 speaker system is inadequate for summer driving imo cuz I like to drive with the windows down and the music cranked up. If there had been an option to do a moonroof and the stock stereo I woulda went that way. Definitely missing the sunroof but I'm used to it now. At least I didn't get stuck with the stock 7" screen and no nav. For me, that's a must, which is why I swapped it into my base gt.
If it was between getting a sun/sound package gt-line or base gt that was a no brainer for me, wanted the 3.3tt if I didn't get that I wouldn't have bought a Stinger.
