2022 GT-Line 18" OEM wheel size and weight info

I took one off today to get some 2022 GT Line wheel info so I could order new wheels.
18x8 with 34mm offset, per the stamping on the back of the wheel.
Weight on my scale with Bridgestone Potenza Re97 AS 02 tire is 55.4 lbs (I verified the scale calibration this morning).
Tire Rack lists that 225/45 R18 tire as 24 lbs.
Therefore the OEM wheel is 31.4 lbs.
So there are some good weight savings to be had with a set of lighter wheels on the GT Line 2.5T.

I ordered a new 19" tire and wheel set (Konig Ampliform 19x8.5 30mm, 20.5 lbs; Nokia One 235/40/19 25 lbs) that'll shave off 10 lbs per corner, but it'll be a few weeks until they arrive.

edit: My new wheels showed up, so I reweighed my OEM set. They came in at 52.0 lbs when I weighed them inside which matches what RM7 got. Maybe the sidewalk I used before was uneven enough to get the 55.4? Anyway...

So that would make the OEM wheels 28 lbs. I don't see the Edit button available on my original post, so I'm not sure how to update that.

The GT wheels weigh c. 3 lbs more. Same offset for the front on a staggered setup.

You don't list your location, but around here 18 is sufficient. Even 17" will do given road conditions.

I like the appearance of the 19" wheels better than the OEM 18" wheels. I'll either save the 18" wheels for when I trade the car in a few years, or put on some dedicated snow tires since my job has me travelling extensively throughout the northern Midwest on a regular basis.

I don't think I've seen a Stinger on 17" wheels. Wouldn't that look like the body builder who skips leg day at the gym?

Keep in mind 19" tires cost more too.

Of course the sidewall increases when you make the wheel diameter smaller. But a small wheel with a tall sidewall starts to look disproportionate on some vehicles. I guess some folks would be okay with a 17" wheel on a Stinger like pictured here, but it makes the car look odd to my eyes. I happen to like the way the 19" looks and feel it best fits the dimensions of the car. And yes, bigger wheels and tires cost more money than smaller wheels and tires. I'm not buying a set of wheels because it'll help me retire earlier...

Yeah, I'm not going with 17", so I don't know why he even brought it up. They might work on the non-Brembo cars. Tire Rack indicates they fit on the 2.0, which is what I used to show how odd they appear on the Stinger.

^^Probably won't clear brembo brakes, but may clear standard floating piston brakes. Rotors on the gt-line trim are 345mm in the front (13.6").

No, I didn't say that. I was mentioning that the 17" wheels may work with cars that don't have Brembos as TireRack has fitments for them.

Ok . That sonata Nline I test drove had the 19" wheels with 245/40/19 tires. Driving around northern suburbs (palatine, arlington heights, schamburg, mt prospect, etc), I found the ride to be exceptionally harsh. Enough that I would not consider 19" wheels/tires for my immediate area. Well, maybe 45 profile 19" tires be a little more comfortable.

I haven't been to the plainfield area in a long time, hope your roads are better.

I went with some Enkei 18x8.5 wheels, they don't look to be very heavy or have a lot of material on them. With new 255 high performance AS tires, they weighed 47.2lbs all together.

There's probably a little more significant difference for the wheel weight. I think the tires come out pretty damn close, but the overall package isn't all that much different.

There was a significant difference with the lugnuts, 63g stock each., 33g for the ones that came with the wheels. 30gx20=1.3lbs,

According to TireRack, your new setup should be at 47.15 lbs (tire 25lb + Enkei TY-5, 18x8.5 wheel 22.15lb), thus your scale appears to be accurate since it showed 47.2. So the 52 lb weight you got for the OEM setup should be accurate also. I checked my scale with a 30lb dumbbell before weighing my OEM wheel/tire, and it showed right up at 30.0, so I figured it was accurate when it showed the 55.4 lbs (no lugnuts). Maybe mine has 3 lbs worth of wheel weights or the air up north by you is lighter...

Yeah, not much lighter, but way wider, 255 square vs 225 and those OEM 225s have a real odd profile, like very rounded at the edges, so it looks like less than 225 to me. I put my winter 225s on the OEM rims and they look wider to me than the bridgestones. I've seen this with Michelin PS4S tires, they are a little skinnier for a given listed "width" than my goodyears, but not nearly as much as the OEM bridgestones on the stinger. Just unacceptably skinny for this size car IMO (for a non-winter tire). I was slightly disappointed with the new weight, until I remembered how much wider it was. I think I'd have to spend way way more to get wheels that are more like 18lbs each or lighter, so I'm definitely happy with the results when I think about it rationally.
