No, I doubt it. Defects like mine happen but not often. The welding on mine didn't look like a machine job and believe it was done by hand so the welder didn’t have a good day lol. Also, a tiny hair leaks are common on clamp on systems from my understanding but if you notice something as major as mine, you need to address it.
Also, David with K8 got back to me as he mentioned (Thanks, David). I called MBRP and they were very responsive - they will provide replacement parts for the parts with defects. So, now I just gotta wait for the parts to arrive and swap and stuff…

Cold start clip with some short revs after break in period. Reverb in the cabin is significant. Wrapped tips to eliminate that.

Installed my MBRP from K8 2 days ago, Im really happy with it...

Fedex did a number on the pipes, I had to straighten all of them cause every single one was bent on the ends in shipping so they wouldnt slip together.. also, I dont understand it but even though the origin location was a few hours from me and was originally quoted as next day delivery, they shipped it to 3 different states before they sent it *back* to Pennsylvania and then to me 3 days later...?? but K8 shipped out same day as my order, so the store did their part well.

I've had bad experiences with catbacks before.. being horribly droney and obnoxious, feeling like a douchebag pulling out of traffic lights, loud ass cold starts, etc, so I was really unsure if I made a good decision.

Right from the first startup, though... my skepticism faded and I started to get excited... it actually sounded good.

Same overall tone as stock on startup and cruising, slightly louder, a bit more growly... on light acceleration you can hear it grumble so it can be heard, it announces itself, but is by no means "Hey look at my loud-ass car"... and when really giving it the beans, it roars aggressively now. Again, not terribly loud but waaaaaaay more attitude. Exactly what I wanted... Im really happy with it.

I did the muffler wrap on the muffler outlets to close the gap in the stock tips as a drone remedy... though I did that prior to the initial startup so I dont know what it sounded like raw without the wrap. I dont hear anything I'd call drone... you can definitely hear the exhaust in the cabin and there is a minor resonance during high load/low rpm situations like going up hill in Eco mode but nothing I'd refer to as drone. Im really sensitive to exhaust sounding like trash and/or drone, so for me to say there isnt anything worth mentioning, it means something.

The fitment on the system was great.. all the hangers lined up, all the pipes cleared suspension and drivetrain stuff, outlets lined up with the tips in the bumper, I only had to do some minor tweaks as I tightened up the clamps.

This is the first time I ever liked a catback on my own car, and I feel like the tone and volume of the exhaust match the class of the car perfectly... I agree with some people on this being how the car should've sounded from the factory. Classy but aggressive, refined but muscle-y.

Props to MBRP and K8 Stinger Store! Im very satisfied.

I’m sorry to hear that the package arrived in that condition, I hate to admit it, but it happens pretty commonly due to the fact that the manufacturer uses thin single walled boxes instead of thick double walled boxes. The good thing is, it’s super easy to fix the piping so I’m glad you were able to get that done.

Does mbrp offer exhaust tips that can match with their exhaust instead of using the aliexpress ones ? I saw some on their website but wasn’t sure if anybody used them with their mbrp exhaust.

Unfortunately, no, they don’t offer any specifically designed or made to fit for the catback exhaust they offer for the Kia Stinger.

Get some 2 or 2.5 inch exhaust lap joint clamps (4) and a section of 2 or 2.5 pipe and make your own to fit the stock bumper.

I lucked out and found someone local selling theirs (they just upgraded to a Borla), and I got it for a STEAL. With the money I saved, I just said screw it and paid a local muffler shop to install it for me (which didn't cost much as it's just a bolt-on). All said and done, I STILL saved a good chunk of change.

I'm loving how it sounds, and I love how the car feels overall. Definitely a welcome mod.

Nice. I would argue the Borla is a "downgrade" as it's basically just a straight pipe setup you can achieve for a lot less.

I got mine off eBay but that is what I did until I got some proper tips.

This is actually a valid method. All we need to do is extend the MBRP exhaust ends further, there is a chance it will look like ass tho if it sits in the middle of the "plastic fake exhaust" tips. No?

Another thing is by looking at my exhaust is that the MBRP is not completely centered with the rear spoiler. How would i get exhaust tips to fit there without bending the rear ends after the muffler?

This is exactly what I did. I have a 22MY and installed the MBRP active exhaust soon after it was released. I could not then and still can find any exhaust tips I would install on my car. So I went to a car part store and purchased 4 extenders and cut them to the length I wanted. I did 2.5 inch extensions on the MBRP exhaust. I used a Dremel to file down the inside of each extension pipe until it was very snug on the MBRP exhaust. Just because the extension says 2.5 inch diameter doesn’t mean it is 2.5 inches. I used a rubber mallet to hammer them on. No screws or clamps needed. They’re all still firmly attached. If I had to do it over do do 3 inches to move the sound a bit further back. There’s a small drone at 2000-2200 rpm which is right at highway driving speeds of 75-85mph. I’ve been lazy and haven’t redone them yet. for the exhaust “tips” I simply had the 2 OEM exhaust ports gloss black powder coated for $60. They came out very nice.

definitely helped with the drone. initially the drone was around 1300rpm. 2.5inch extensions were my first guess. When I have time I’ll probably redo with either 3 or 3.5 inches. the MBRP oem pipe is only about 1/4 inch into the stock “tips”. So I think it reverberates sound into the car. I really like the sound when I push hard. But I wish highway driving speeds were quieter. I have the factory exhaust setting turned off,

Mine are perfectly centered. I’d double check installation. Here are mine. They were perfectly centered for me to add extensions Into the oem tips.
