Maximum Gas Mileage

I average between 26-29 on highways during road trips to and from New York to Florida... but the car is weighed down with extra luggage/supplies and two people normally. If It's just me in the car and I'm doing local highway driving I've hit over 30. During city or just around town I get anywhere from 14 to 18 depending on how heavy my right foot is. :D

3.3.. my mixed driving around here is not bad since i generally never go into nashville proper. lot of 45 mph cruising and not many lights help!
We actually average 16mpg mixed same driving area in our hummer h3 adventure and have gotten as good as 21 mpg in the h3.
They must got better gas then Los Angeles
We got water down 91 octane for $4.39.

I see all these averages of 20 mpg for Kia stinger V6’s
when I average only 12 mpg, so either something wrong with the gas here in Los Angeles or something wrong in my right foot

There's a big difference in San Diego and LA. I know they are both considered SoCal but LA and San Diego are two different cities to me. I loved living in San Diego.

I'm on the east coast now (DC area) and I agree, I despise the humidity, heat, bugs, and awful traffic. I'd much rather live in San Diego than here and the cost of living is no different here than it was there.
I will agree, DC humidity is absolutely HORRENDOUS, as is the Capital Beltway traffic.

Nothing wrong with hw you're driving. I too am getting ridiculously low mpg driving around LA. I feel like I have to hypermile sometimes to even get around 12 mpg.

that is a pretty big discrepancy... also, "stop and go" city driving in LA is quite a bit different than us out here not in the big city which is probably a big contributor ... I only use 93 octane from shell or costco, but again, shouldn't be that big of a gap from those octane differences. Just today, i stayed in sport mode going to lunch and back and accelerated hard at every stop/light and still averaged 18mpg for the 20 mile round trip..

I feel like I went from one of the best climates there is in San Diego - 70s and little rain/humidity, to DC area -- one of the hottest/wettest climates there is.

It rains a lot out here. I bet we get as much rain or more each month as San Diego does in an entire year. The summers here make you want to shower multiple times a day.

I hope to some day move back out west. I miss it.

I’ve manually calculated the MPG compared with the carputerized claim a few times. It is consistently 1.5 - 2 mpg higher than manual calculation. The analog gas guage is more accurate…

If any of you live in a very hilly region, that can really mess with your MPG. I live in a region with a lot of hills and mpg averages are never close to EPA.

I only have 3.5K miles on my 2022 and my lifetime average is about 20 mpg. The majority of my miles are highway mileage as well. Some of that is due to having a lead foot, but even when I'm cruising at a reasonable speed, the MPG suffers going up all these hills.

Plus, you don't 'gain' as much MPG when going downhill. The car always burns more gas coming up hill versus what you save going down hill.

I do find that leaving the car on ECO or Smart mode helps eek out a little more MPG. I just hate the throttle response in ECO lol

Brand new 22 gtline awd owner here. Still on the original gas that came with the car. ~230 miles on the odo so far. I reset everything after I drove away from the dealer.

In mixed driving (50/50¿?), it's indicating ~29 mpg. I've seen it as high as 33 on the highway. Have a few hundred mile roadtrip this weekend. We'll see how it does.

I'm not a leadfoot from the light but I do go 5-10 over.

I am here. Heavy foot. Slight road rage tendencies. I maintain 21 to 25 mpg overall.

Needless to say, thats not bad for a heavy foot.

Speaking of mpg, my last car would automatically reset upon refueling. Looks like that option is here too. However, the old car also displayed stats for the last 3 refuelings. That I don't see here. Does it exist?

The flow was something like this, refuel, obtain receipt, record miles on receipt. If I miss the # I could always go back to the history later. Although...

On page 181 of the 2022 owner's manual it says this

So the ~1.5 gal is a given after refueling, but so long as the car is not moved, the stats should not reset. Still would be nice to see last 3 or 5 refueling stats.

i just drove from compton to las vagas on eco mode, and only got 20 mpg’s at 80 mph the whole 275 miles. i paid $5.09 for 91 octane at the border of cal nav

First fill up here... Took just over 12 gal of costco premium. 29.2 mpg calculated, 29.7 according to dash. 90% hwy + playing with the gears to vary rpms. We'll see what it goes to in a few months after more broken in. Only ~400 miles on the clock now.

Just a heads up break in i hear try to use the 2 to 4k range most if possible and dont hold a consistent rpm for very long periods. But do what you know is best.
Also costco gas gave my car misfires.
That is all

^^I ran costco fuel in the accord (2.4 NA), and g37 (3.7 NA). First time using it in a turbo car. Drive home was ~50 miles, didn't experience any misfires or other issues. All the costco's around here are very high volume. As a matter of fact, the one by the house says they get deliveries 3x/day.

The car hasn't seen over 4K rpm yet. I don't jackrabbit from a light, but I don't crawl either. I'm still smelling a bit of the burn off smell after parking. On the G that subsided after about 600 miles.
