Primary Downpipes

Hey guys so i am currently using a JB4 on my Kia Stinger GTS and was wanting to replace the factory primary Downpipe. I was told by a friend that if you replace the factory primary that it will throw a CEL code and the only way to get rid of it is to reflash your ECU which will then make the JB4 pointless. Is this actually true and if so is there anyway around it without reflashing the ECU?

Install EWG JB4 wires to prevent overboost.
 
I have high flow cats on (200 cell). I don't throw a code. Catless you will throw a code and need an ECU flash to overide it. Just go with a highflow cat and you will be good using JB4.

I’m looking for something that I can get the most power with. Currently I’m on a jb4 map 4 e30 denso 2 step spark plugs snorkels and BMS intakes when I get the down pipes I wanna pair it with a stillen exhaust. From what I’ve seen the stillen exhaust on a stock stinger gives the most power especially at that price range. Thought?

Personally purchased MBRP to deepen sound, not power. That’s the only exhaust tone I liked. If I wanted to change the stock primaries for hp gain, I’d choose the ultimate performance hfc. I think the max gain is around 46 whp, 62 wtq which is pretty significant. Depends on what your looking for.

I found someone selling a new set of SXTH element HFC primarys. Got them for a good deal and couldn't pass it up.

Yes, sound for sure. Actually got rid of drone and made it sound deeper. I had a little rasp so I redid my muffler delete with Vibrant resonators. Performance wise it knocked 2 10ths off my 1/4 mile. Was able to run 11.7@116 mph on 91 octane. no meth or E85. Best before that was 11.98

 
Ok great ! have ark midpipes right now just ordered catback with tips so looking for performance without the drone , have you thrown a code yet? have the jb4 also.
 
No codes thrown since i went with HFC. I have Jb4.
 
Is jb4 all you need so it does not throw a code?

I have definitely been looking at them! Just wondering if it’s fully catless? I’m getting the lozic tcu and ecu with the flame tune and I need it to be fully free flow
